Speaker presented.

HIS Majesty being placed in His Royal Throne, and the Lords in their Robes, the Commons were sent for, who presented Sir Heneage Finch, Knight, Serjeant at Law, and Recorder of London, for their Speaker.

Mr. Speaker humbly desired to be excused; but the Lord Keeper answered, on the King's Behalf: "That His Majesty approved of the Commons Choice, and would not admit his Excuse."

Whereupon the Speaker proceeded in a learned eloquent Speech; in Conclusion whereof he petitioned for their ancient Privileges, and a fair and gracious Interpretation of all their Proceedings.

All which His Majesty granted, according to the ancient Usage thereof, as was signified unto them by the Lord Keeper.

Adjourn.

Dominus Custos Magni Sigilli, ex Jussu Domini Regis, continuavit præsens Parliamentum, usque in diem crastinum, videlicet, nonum diem instantis Februarii, hora nona.
