Ambrose Brown's Bill

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Ambrose Browne Esquire, and others, to make Sale of the Manor of Bayham, in the Counties of Sussex and Kent; and to settle other Lands and Tenements in the County of Surrey, to the same Uses as the said Manor of Bayham now stands settled."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Meller and Mr. Orlebar:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Royston to Wansford, Highways, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual repairing and amending the Highways leading from Royston, in the County of Hertford, to Wandsford Bridge, in the County of Huntingdon."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Tuesday next.

Pollard versus Nugent & Ux.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Walter Pollard Esquire, from Two several Orders, or Decrees, made in Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer in Ireland, the Seventh Day of December 1713, and Fourteenth Day of May 1714, in a Cause wherein Thomas Nugent and Allson his Wife, Administrators of James Nugent deceased, and, also Administrators of William Nugent deceased, were Complainants, and the Appellant Defendant; praying "the Reversal of the said Orders or Decrees; and, in order thereunto, that the said Thomas Nugent and his Wife may answer the said Appeal; and that the Service of the Order of this House on the Respondents Attorney in the said Court of Exchequer may be good Service:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Nugent and his Wife may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Friday the Thirtieth Day of July next, at Eleven a Clock; and that the Service of this Order on the Respondents Attorney in the said Court shall be good Service, in order thereunto.

Douglas versus More & al.;

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Grace and Rachel Douglas, Daughters to the deceased Mr. James Douglas of Earnslaw, for themselves, and as Assignees for Mr. Alexander Douglas Minister their Uncle, and Lieutenant Robert Douglas their Brother, from several Interlocutors or Decrees of the Lords of Council and Session, in Scotland, made on the Behalf of James More Writer in Edinburgh, for himself, and as Assignee of Hugh Paterson Surgeon, and of others; praying Relief: As also upon the Answers of John Montgomery Esquire, the said Hugh Paterson and James More, put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the several Interlocutors, or Decrees, therein complained of, be, and are hereby, affirmed.

Acts to prevent Dangers from Popish Recusants; and for settling Presentations to Benefices of Papists, Bill to render more effectual.

Whereas To-morrow is appointed, for the House to be in a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for rendering more effectual an Act, made in the Third Year of the Reign of King James the First, intituled, An Act to prevent and avoid Dangers, which may grow by Popish Recusants;" and also of One other Act, made in the First Year of the Reign of Their late Majesties King William and Queen Mary, intituled, "An Act to vest in the Two Universities, the Presentations of Benefices belonging to Papists;" and for the Judges to attend the said Committee:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee upon the said Bill, on Tuesday next; and that the Judges do then attend.

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual an Act of the Tenth and Eleventh Years of the Reign of King William, intituled, An Act for making and keeping the River Trent, in the Counties of Leicester, Derby, and Stafford, navigable;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
