PRAYERS.

Bazill versus Atcheson.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Martin Caulfield Bazill Esquire, from a Decree of the Court of Exchequer in Ireland, pronounced the Third Day of May last, in a Cause wherein Sir Arthur Atcheson (Son and Heir of Sir Nicholas Atcheson Baronet, deceased,) was Complainant, and the Appellant Defendant; praying, "That the said Decree may be reversed; and, in order thereunto, that the said Sir Arthur may answer the said Appeal; and that all Proceedings may be stayed in the mean Time:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir Arthur Atcheson may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Wednesday the Seventh Day of July next, at Eleven a Clock; and that, in the mean Time, all Proceedings be stayed in the said Court of Exchequer.

Ld. Vis. Massereene et al. Bill:

After reading, and considering, the Report of the Judges, to whom the Petition of the Right Honourable Clotworthy Lord Viscount Massereene and others, for Leave to bring in a Bill, was referred:

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Settlement made on the Marriage of the now Lord Viscount Massereene; and for better securing the Jointure of his Lady, and of Rachel Viscountess Dowager Massereen; and for vesting in Trustees certain Lands and Tithes in Ireland, to be sold, for the Purposes therein mentioned."

Petitions, relating to the Bill to prevent Schism.

A Petition of several Protestants, diffenting from the Church of England, being Schoolmasters and Mistresses, who teach Reading, in Behalf of themselves and others of the same Employment:

Also, a Petition of several Protestants dissenting from the Church of England, who use and exercise the Art and Employment of teaching Navigation, Surveying, Gauging, and other Mensuration, in Behalf of themselves and others of the same Profession:

Also, a Petition of several Protestant Diffenters, being Masters of Ships, who are obliged to teach their Apprentices the Art of Navigation, on Behalf of themselves and others of the same Employment:

Also, a Petition of several Protestants, diffenting from the Church of England, using and exercising the Art and Employment of teaching Youth to write and cast Accompts, in Behalf of themselves and many others of the same Profession:

And also, a Petition of several Protestant Schoolmasters and Mistresses, entirely conforming to the Church of England as by Law established, in Behalf of themselves and others in like Circumstances:

Were severally presented to the House and read, relating to the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the Growth of Schism, and for the further Security of the Church of England as by Law established."

And the said Petitions were severally ordered to be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of the whole House to whom the said Bill is committed.

Schism, to prevent, Bill.

Then the House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the Growth of Schism; and for the further Security of the Church of England as by Law established."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Archbishop of York reported from the said Committee, "That they had made some Progress in the Bill; and directed him to move, that they may have Leave to sit again."

Ordered, That the House be put into a Committee again, on the said Bill, To-morrow at One a Clock; and the Lords to be summoned.

Tobacco Trade, Bill.

Ordered, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for encouraging the Tobacco Trade," be read a Second Time on Friday next; and that some of the Commissioners of the Customs do then attend this House.

Causes put off.

Ordered, That the Cause wherein Grace and Rachel Douglas are Appellants, and James More is Respondent, which was appointed to be heard To-morrow, be put off to Saturday next; and the other Causes removed in Course.
