Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for making the Chapelry of Stockton, in the County of Durham, a distinct Parish."

Sir A. Kennedy versus Sir A. Cumming:

The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Lords Committees, appointed to consider of the Petition and Appeal of Sir Andrew Kennedy Baronet; complaining of some Proceedings, and of an Interlocutor, of the Lords of Council and Session in Scotland, on the Behalf of Sir Alexand'r Cumming, since the Order of this House of the 19th of April 1711, to the said Lords of Session, for taxing of Costs: "That they had considered the Matter to them referred; and were come to the following Resolution; (videlicet,)

Appeal rejected.

"That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the said Petition of Appeal of Sir Andrew Kennedy ought not to be proceeded on; it not complaining of the Breach of any Order or Direction of this House."

Which Resolution, being read, was agreed to by the House.

Terry discharged.

Upon reading the Petition of Isaac Terry Shoemaker, in Custody of the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, for causing the Lord Bellendine, a Peer of Great Britain, to be arrested; expressing his Ignorance and Rashness, in incurring the Displeasure of this House, and his Sorrow for his Offence; and praying to be discharged, to prevent his inevitable Ruin:

And being thereupon called in, and, upon his Knees, at the Bar, reprimanded by the Lord Chancellor:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Isaac Terry shall be, and is hereby, discharged (paying his Fees); and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir William Oldes, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.

Lee's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enabling Henry Lee the Younger, alias Lee Warner, to make a Jointure, upon his Marriage."

Crosdaile to enter into a Recognizance for Despard & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Croasdaile Esquire; praying, "That he may be allowed to enter into a Recognizance for William Despard and others, who have an Appeal depending in this House, and reside in Ireland:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Croasdaile may enter into a Recognizance for the said Appellants, as desired.

River Douglas navigable, Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for making the River Douglas, alias Asland, navigable, from the River Rible, into which it runs, up the said River Asland, (fn. 1) and Douglas, to a Place called Wild Mill, in the County of Lancaster."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Thursday Sevennight, at Twelve a Clock.

Excommunication, too frequent, to prevent, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to prevent the too frequent Denunciation of Excommunication, in the Exercise of Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow Sevennight, at Twelve a Clock.

L. Kingston & al. versus Marq. Dorchester & al.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein William Pierrepoint Esquire (commonly called Lord Kingston) and others are Appellants, and the Lord Marquis of Dorchester and others are Respondents:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Monday next, at Eleven a Clock.

After reading, and considering, the Report of the Judges, to whom was referred the Petition of William Booth Gentleman and others; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Purposes therein mentioned:
