This Day Thomas Lord Trevor sat Speaker, by Virtue of Her Majesty's Commission.

PRAYERS.

Bp. St. David's takes the Oaths.

Adam Lord Bishop of St. David's took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

The Speaker acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of the Parliament."

The House was adjourned during Pleasure.

The House was resumed.

Then the Lords Commissioners (in their Robes) being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Speaker in the Middle; with the Lord Treasurer on his Right Hand; and the Lord President on his Left; commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to let the Commons know, "That the Commissioners desire their immediate Attendance in the House of Peers, to hear the Commission read."

Who being come, with their Speaker; the same was read, by the Clerk, as follows:

Then the Speaker said,

Parliament prorogued.

"My Lords, and Gentlemen of the House of Commons,

"By Virtue of Her Majesty's Commission now read, and directed to us and other Lords, we do, in Her Majesty's Name, further prorogue this present Parliament to Thursday the Six and Twentieth Day of this Instant March: And this Parliament is accordingly prorogued to Thursday the Six and Twentieth Day of this Instant March."
