Ld. Fitzwalter takes the Oaths.

This Day Charles Lord Fitzwalter took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, and the Oath of Abjuration, and also made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Bromley's Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of John Bromley Esquire, on Behalf of himself and Henry Bromley (an Infant) his Son, and of Dorothy Bromley a Minor, and William Lygon and Nicholas Lechmere Esquires, her Guardians; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the making good a Provision for the said Dorothy, in Pursuance of a Power in the Marriage Settlement of the said John Bromley, and the Intentions of William her Father, as expressed in the Petition, and for the other Purposes therein mentioned:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Baron of Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer and Mr. Justice Blencowe; who are forthwith to summon all Parties that are to be concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties concerned in the Consequences of the Bill, have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Increase of Seamen, and manning the Navy, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Encouragement and Increase of Seamen, and better manning Her Majesty's Fleet."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Halifax reported, "That the Committee of the whole House had made some Progress in the Bill; and desired another Time may be appointed, for the House to be in a Committee again, to proceed therein."

Ordered, That To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock, this House shall be put into a Committee again, to proceed further on the said Bill.

Report on E. Exeter's Bill, delivered.

This Day the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas and Mr. Justice Powys delivered their Report, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for settling the Estate of John now Earl of Exeter, pursuant to Agreements made on the Marriage of the same Earl with Elizabeth Countess of Exeter, his now Wife, subject to such Alterations as are mentioned in the said Bill."

Ordered, That the said Report do lie on the Table, to be perused by the Lords.

Papers relating to The West Indies, delivered.

The Earl of Sunderland, by Her Majesty's Command, delivered several Papers; the Titles whereof were read, as follow;

1. "An Account of the Monies arising by the Duty of 4 and ½ per Centum, from the Time of Her Majesty's Accession to the Crown, until Michaelmas 1707, and of the Application thereof; also,

2. "An Account of the Value of Stores sent from the Ordnance to Barbadoes and The Leward Islands, with the Charge of an Engineer and Gunners at Barbadoes, with a Letter."

Letters from the E. of Peterborough delivered.

The Earl of Sunderland, by Her Majesty's Command, also delivered Two Letters from the Earl of Peterborow to Sir Charles Hedges, dated 12th July, 1705.

Ordered, That the said Letters be referred to the Committee of the whole House, appointed to consider the State of the Nation, in relation to the War in Spain.

Ld. High Admiral's Report, on the Address about manning the Fleet, delivered.

His Lordship likewise delivered the Lord High Admiral's Report, on the Address of this House of the last Session of Parliament, concerning manning the Fleet.

Ordered, That the several Papers delivered this Day by the Earl of Sunderland, by Her Majesty's Command, shall be, and they are hereby, referred to the several Lords Committees who have Papers of the like Nature under their Consideration.

E. of Peterborough to have Copies of Papers.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Earl of Peterborow may have Copies of any Letters before the Committees of the whole House, either writ by his Lordship to any Person, or by any Person writ to his Lordship; and also of such other Letters or Papers as his Lordship shall think fit, that are before the said Committee.
