Prayers.

Edon's Estate.

A BILL to enable Thomas Edon, Esquire, to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts, and make Provision for his Wife, in lieu of her Jointure, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Morland have Leave to go into the Country for Three Weeks, for Recovery of his Health.

Pilchard Fishery.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to regulate the Pilchard Fishing in the Counties of Cornwall and Devon.

Wortley's Children's Maintenance.

A Bill to settle a Maintenance upon the Children of Sidney Wortley, alias Montague, Esquire, during his Wife's Life, in case she survived him, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Irish Forfeited Estates.

Mr. Serjeant Trenchard reports from the Committee to whom it was referred to prepare a Bill for Sale of the Estates, that were forfeited by those that were now in Rebellion against their Majesties in the Kingdom of Ireland, That they had prepared a Bill accordingly: Which he delivered in at the Table; and was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Prize Salt.

Mr. Christy reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for Preservation of French Salt, taken as Prize, was referred, That they had agreed upon several Amendments to be made therein; and also upon a Clause, for further time for Arthur Shallett and * Heathcott to import Two hundred Ton of Spanish Brandy; and had directed him to report the same to the House: Which Amendments he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and also the said Clause; and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and afterwards a Second time, one by one; and upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill so amended, and with the said Clause, be ingrossed.

Indemnifying persons acting for their Majesties.

A Bill to prevent vexatious Suits against such as acted in order to the bringing in of their present Majesties, or for their Service, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Restoring Corporations.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill for restoring Corporations, be read the Third time on Friday Morning next.

Attainder of Irish Rebels.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill for attainting such as are in Rebellion against their Majesties in Ireland. . . . : And that Sir Tho. Littleton, Mr. Christy, Mr. Parkhurst, Lord Sherrard, Sir Wm. Ashurst, Mr. Fox, Mr. Smith, Mr. Lawton, Mr. Thomson, be added to the said Committee.

Judgment on Scandalis Magnatum.

Ordered, That Mr. Christy and Sir John Guise be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for reversing Two Judgments given in the King's Bench, in Two Actions brought by the Duke of Beaufort against Sir Trevor Williams, Baronet, and John Arnold, Esquire, upon the Statute de Scandalis Magnatum; and to discharge an Action brought by the said Duke against John Dutton, Esquire, upon the said Statute.

Duke of Buckingham's Estate.

Ordered, That Mr. Thomas Howard and Major Manley be added to the Committee, to whom the Bill for better enabling the Trustees of the late Duke of Bucks to sell his Estate, for Payment of his Debts, is referred.

Supply Bill: Duty on Coffee.

Then the House resolved into a Committee of the whole House, upon the Bill for collecting the Duty upon Coffee, Tea, and Chocolate, at the Custom House.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Hampden took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Hampden reports from the Committee of the whole House, That they had gone through the Bill; and agreed upon several Amendments to be made therein; and also upon a Clause, for Liberty to import Spices from Foreign Countries in English Ships, which they had directed him to report to the House, with the first Opportunity.

Militia.

Ordered, That the Lord Brandon and Colonel Kirby be added to the Committee appointed to prepare and bring in a Bill for the settling the Militia of this Kingdom.

Resolved, That the House do adjourn until Tuesday Morning next.
