Prayers.

Irish Affairs.

ORDERED, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to make void and null the pretended Parliament in Ireland, and to restore Corporations there; and to take of all Forfeitures and Penalties which may be incurred by Absentees; and to discharge the Protestants there of Quit Rents, till their Majesties shall declare Ireland to be reduced.

Westminster, &c. Courts of Conscience.

Ordered, That Monday-sevennight be appointed to hear the Lady Russell's Counsel against the Bill for erecting a Court of Conscience for Westminster, Borough of Southwarke, Tower Hamlets, and Out Parishes of the City of London.

Process of Capias.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to take away Process of Capias for all Debts under Forty Shillings: And it is recommended to Mr. Solicitor General and Mr. Serjeant Wogan to take care of the Bill.

Westminster, &c. Courts of Conscience.

A Petition of the Lady Philadelphia Wentworth was read; setting forth, That the Petitioner is possessed of the Manor of Stepny as her Inheritance, and wherein are divers Courts, where her Steward tries Causes under Forty Shillings at small Charge: That her Copyholders and Leaseholders are very numerous, and many of them Seamen; and their Families, whose Wives now make Shift, by a small Credit under Forty Shillings, paying monthly, &c. to subsist with their Families: Whereas, if a Bill should pass for a Court of Conscience in the Tower Hamlets and Out Parishes (That being included), such Credit would fail; and thereby reduce those many Families to the Parishes, to be maintained; much to Prejudice of your Petitioner, and her said Manor and Estate: And praying the Consideration of the Premises and that a Proviso may be admitted in the Bill, to except her said Manor of Stepney.

Ordered, That the Lady Wentworth be heard by her Counsel, at the Bar of this House, upon Monday-nextcome-sevennight.

Irish Refugees.

Ordered, That Sir John Moreton, Sir Ralph Dutton, Mr. Niccolls, Sir Nev. Catlyn, Mr. Brereton, Mr. White be added to the Committee, to whom it is referred to consider of what of the Irish Nobility and Gentry are fit to receive his Majesty's Bounty.

Papists Protestant Heirs.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to prevent Papists giving away their Estates from the next Protestant Heirs.

Judgments on Scandalum Magnatum.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to reverse Two Judgments obtained by the Duke of Beaufort in Two Actions of Scandalum Magnatum; one in the Common Pleas, against Sir Trevor Williams, Baronet, for Ten thousand and Eighty Pounds Damages; and the other in the King's Bench, against John Arnold, Esquire, for Ten thousand One hundred Pounds Damages.

Ordered, That there be also a Clause in the aforesaid Bill, to discharge an Action of Scandalum Magnatum, now depending between the Duke of Beaufort, and John Dutton Colt, Esquire.

Person on attendance to have Privilege.

Ordered, That Mr. Whitrow, Mayor of Dartmouth, have the Privilege of this House to attend the Committee of Elections and Privileges this Afternoon.

A person desires to have Indulgeneces.

A Petition of Wm. Burton was read; setting forth, That he, being very infirm and weak in Prison, was allowed a Physician to come to him, by Order of the Earl of Shrewsbury: But, that since his Examination by this House, he has been enjoined from such Enlargement; the Lord Shrewsbury refusing to renew his said Order without the Order of this House: And praying Consideration of his deplorable Condition; and that he may have a Physician and Nurse allowed him; and that his Relations may have recourse to him, to supply him with Christian Necessaries: But nothing done thereupon.

Supply Bill; Land Tax.

Then the House resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill for granting an Aid of Two Shillings in the Pound to their Majesties.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Solicitor General reports from the Committee of the whole House, That they had made some further Progress in the Bill: And that they had directed him to move the House, That the Members of this House might be ordered to bring in Lists of the Names for the respective Counties and Places for which they serve, of such Persons as they conceive fit to be Commissioners for levying the Aid of Two Shillings in the Pound granted to their Majesties.

Resolved, That the Members of this House do bring in Lists of the Names for the respective Counties and Places for which they serve, of such Persons as they conceive fit to be Commissioners for levying the Aid of Two Shillings in the Pound granted to their Majesties.
