Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Naturalizing of Sir James Areskin, Knight, his Wife and Children.

Petition against Throckmorton's Bill.

In regard of a Petition presented to the Higher House of Parliament, by Sir Richard Champernown, Knight, for Stay of any further Proceeding in the Bill of William Throckmorton, Esquire, (the said Sir Richard Champernown pretending that he shall suffer Prejudice by the Passage of the said Bill, in Respect of his Claim to the Inheritance of the late Earl of Devon, and craving that he may be heard with his Counsel Learned); it is Ordered, That both he, the said Sir Richard Champernown, with his Counsel, and William Throckmorton, with his Counsel, as also Mr. Baker, with his Counsel (who formerly made Opposition against the said Bill), shall be heard To-morrow, being Friday, the 23d of this Instant May, by Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the open House, if they attend.

Recusants.

Report made by the Lord Archbishop of Cant. of that which passed at the Conference with the Committees of the Lower House, upon Monday last, the 19th of this Instant May, on the Two Bills concerning Recusants; and Agreed, That the Committees of this House should meet forthwith, in the Painted Chamber, to consider of some Amendments fit to be added or inserted in those Bills.

A Note and Remembrance to be made, by Direction of the House:

Order of presenting Bills Restitution in Blood.

That all Bills for Restitution in Blood ought, before they be admitted and received in Parliament (upon humble Petition), to have the King's Allowance for presenting the said Bills; and then they are to be presented first and begun in the Higher House.

This Direction of Remembrance was appointed to be made, in regard of an Error committed Once or Twice in this kind, by reason of Bills of this Nature begun in the Lower House.
