Prayers.

House to sit.

RESOLVED, &c. That the House do sit this Afternoon, for the Dispatch of such Bills and Reports as are ready: And that the ingrossed Bill touching Tobacco, be read.

Supply Bill; Law Proceedings.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, upon the Bill for laying an Imposition on Proceedings in Courts of Law, and other Courts.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Robert Atkins took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Robert Atkins reports from the Committee, That, in their Progress upon the said Bill, they met with some Clauses of such Difficulty, which required some Informations from Persons without Doors; and therefore humbly moved, from the said Committee, That the House would impower and enable them, to inform themselves of such Persons as they should think fit, as to any Clauses in the Bill where they find any Difficulty.

Resolved, &c. That the House doth agree with the said Committee, That they be impowered and enabled to inform themselves of such Persons as they shall think fit, as to any Clauses in the Bill where they find any Difficulty.

Then the House resolved into a Committee of the whole House, upon the said Bill.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Robert Atkins took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Robert Atkins reports from the said Committee, That they had made some further Progress in the Bill aforesaid; and humbly moved, that the House would resolve into a Committee again To-morrow Morning, to proceed in the further Consideration thereof.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, That the House be resolved into a Committee again To-morrow Morning, to proceed in the Consideration of the Bill for laying an Imposition on Proceedings in Courts of Law, and other Courts; and that, next after the Report of the Amendments to the additional Bill against Conventicles is made.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Hacket's Estate.

Mr. Crouch reports from the Committee to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, on the Behalf of Sir Andrew Hacket, was committed, some Amendments agreed to be made to the said Bill: Which were, upon the Question, agreed; and the Bill, with the Amendments, read the Third time; and ordered to be returned to the Lords.

Building Arundell House.

Sir Solom. Swale reports from the Committee to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for building Arundell House and Tenements thereunto belonging, That the Committee had perused the Bill, and returned it without any Alteration.

Indigent Officers.

A Bill for taking an Account of Sixty thousand Pounds, and other Monies, given to the loyal and indigent Officers, was read a Third time: And some Amendments agreed and made at the Table.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for taking the Accounts of Sixty thousand Pounds, and other Monies, given to the loyal and indigent Officers: And Mr. Sandis is to carry up the Bill to the Lords.

Tobacco.

A Bill to prevent the Planting of Tobacco in England, and for regulating the Plantation Trade, was read a Third time.

A Proviso, on the Behalf of the Farmers of the Customs, was twice read.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be made Part of the Bill;

Upon the Division of the House,

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An additional Act to prevent the Planting of Tobacco in England, and for regulating the Plantation Trade.

Intestates Estates.

An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the better settling of Intestates Estates.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time, on Friday Morning, Ten of the Clock.

Making Serges.

Ordered, That the Committee to which the Bill for the regulating the making of Serges, was committed, be revived; and do sit and proceed on that Bill.

Clarke's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill for settling the Manor of Shabbington, for Payment of the Debts of Sir William Clarke, was read a Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for settling the Manor of Shabbington, for Payment of the Debts of Sir William Clarke.

Foreign Artists.

Ordered, That Leave be given to Mr. Birch, to bring in a Bill for encouraging foreign Artists to come into England, for improving the Manufacture of this Nation, notwithstanding the Laws and Privileges of the Corporations of London.

Ogle's Estate.

The ingrossed Bill, on the Behalf of Sir Thomas Ogle, was read the Third time.

A Proviso, on the Behalf of Sir Robert Carr, was thrice read, and agreed to be made Part of the Bill.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act to enable Trustees to sell the Manors, Lands, and Leases of Sir Thom. Ogle Knight, deceased, for raising a Portion and present Maintenance for his Daughter and Heir; and Payment of his Debts.

Ordered, That the House sit To-morrow in the Afternoon.

Fishery.

Ordered, That the Bill of Fishery be read To-morrow in the Afternoon, the first Business.

Workhouses.

Ordered, That the Report of the Bill concerning the Workhouses be read the second Business, To-morrow in the Afternoon.

Buying and selling Cattle.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill to prevent Frauds in Buying and Selling of Cattle, be read To-morrow Morning.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
