Prayers.

Privilege.

WHEREAS Thomas White, for his Breach of Privilege, in causing Mr. Chowne, a Member of this House, to be arrested, was sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms; but doth abscond himself, and cannot be apprehended:

Resolved, &c. That a Fine of a Thousand Pound be set on Mr. Thomas White, for his Breach of Privilege: And that the Serjeant at Arms do pursue his former Order to apprehend him.

Ditto.

Sir Phillip Froude, who is intrusted with the Management of the Post Office by his Royal Highness the Duke of Yorke, being called in to the Bar of this House; and giving Information, That certain Attornies, and in particular one Peter Mason, do take upon them to superscribe Letters in the Names of Members of this House, to have them carried gratis; whereby his Highness is abused in his Revenue, and the Privilege of Parliament intringed;

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Privileges, to examine the Abuse and Breach of Privilege objected against Mr. Peter Mason an Attorney, and others, in superscribing the Names of Members of this House to their own Letters, to have them carried gratis; and report the Matter, with their Opinions therein, to the House: And that the Committee do sit this Afternoon at Two of the Clock.

Privilege.

Ordered, That the Matter of Breach of Privilege objected against one Thomas Bristoll, in detaining one Thomas Harnston, Bailiff to Mr. Pierrepont, a Member of this House, in Prison, contrary to the Order of this House for his Discharge, be referred to the Committee of Privileges: to examine, and to report it, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Impeachment of Lord Mordant.

Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords, upon the Answer, returned by their Lordships, to the last Message from this House, for a free Conference, touching the Impeachment against the Lord Mordant.

And Sir Robert Atkins is to desire the Conference.

Ordered, That the Persons formerly nominated, with the Addition of Mr. Henry Coventry and Sir Robert Carr, do manage; and withdraw; and prepare Reasons to be insisted on at the Conference.

Estates for Lives.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, to prevent Inconveniences by want of Proof of the Deceases of Persons beyond the Seas, or absenting themselves, upon whose Lives Estates do depend, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Serjeant Charlton, Colonel Windham, Sir Lan. Lake, Lord Allington, Sir Thomas Higgens, Sir Solom. Swale, Sir Hen. Cæsar, Sir Thomas Allen, Mr. Dalmahoy, Mr. Malett, Sir Thom. Meres, Colonel Sandys, Sir John Moreton, Lord Fitzharding, Mr. Buscawen, Sir John Talbott, Mr. Morice, Sir Robert Howard, Mr. Seymour, Sir Roger Bradshaigh, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Rigby, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir Jonathan Trelawney, Sir Thom. Lee, Doctor Burrell, Mr. Ford, Sir Wm. Godolphin, Mr. Cromptroller, Mr. Rolls, Mr. Pepis, Mr. Brunchard, Mr. Mallett, Mr. Hobby, Sir Edm. Bowyer, Mr. Crouch, Lord Seymuor: And all the Members of this House that shall come are to have Voices: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Three of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Lord Abergevany's Estate.

Mr. Malet reports from the Committee to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, concerning the Lord Abergeveny, was committed, some Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the Amendments were twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed: And the Bill, with the Amendments, read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments, do pass: And Mr. Malet is to carry it up to the Lords.

Impeachment of Lord Mordant.

Sir Robert Atkins reports, That he had delivered the Message to the Lords, for a Conference upon the Answer returned by their Lordships to the last Message from this House for a free Conference, touching the Impeachment against the Lord Mordant: And their Lordships acquainted him, That they will consider of the Message; and return Answer by Messengers of their own.

Swaffham Prior.

Mr. Crouch reports several Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill for Uniting of Parishes in Swaffham Saint Cyriac, and Swaffham Saint Maries within the Town of Swaffham Prior in the County of Cambridge; and for uniting the Two Churches there: Which he read in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Resolved, &c. That the Consideration of the Amendments be taken up To-morrow Morning.

Resolved, &c. That the Amendments, from the Lords, to the Bill concerning publick Accompts, be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning.
