Prayers.

Privilege.

ORDERED, That Thomas Hatton and Mr. Petitt his Attorney, be sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, or his Deputy, to answer their Breach of Privilege, in causing Sir Wm. Batten, a Member of this House, to be sued to the Outlawry.

Loval Officers.

Mr. Mallett reports from the Committee to which the Matter touching the indigent loyal Officers was committed, That the Committee had agreed upon a Vote to be reported to the House: Which he read.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, That whereas, in the Accompt of Mr. Grills, Receiver General for the Eighteen Months Assessment on the County of Cornwall, assigned for the indigent loyal Officers, it appeared, he had paid Two thousand Six hundred Pounds into the Exchequer: That the Lord Treasurer be desired to cause the said Two thousand Six hundred Pounds to be paid to the Treasurer, for the Monies assigned for the indigent loyal Officers: And that Sir Phillip Warwick do acquaint the Lord Treasurer with the Desires of the House for that Purpose.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Wm. Child and Sir Thomas Estcourt;

Lords agree to Bills.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to acquaint you, That they have agreed, without any Alteration, to the Bill to prevent the Disturbances of Seamen and others; and to preserve the Stores of his Majesty's Navy Royal; and to the Bill to enable a Sale of Lands, for the Payment of the Debts of Henry Kendall Esquire: As also to the Bill for explaining the Act for raising Money by the Poll, and otherwise, towards the Maintenance of the present War. They have likewise returned you the Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners, and Setting of them on Work; with some Amendments: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Impeachment of Lord Mordant.

Mr. Seymour reports, That, according to the Direction of the House, the Managers of the Business against the Lord Mordant had searched the Precedents, and opened the Nature of them, and the Manner of Proceeding in the Cases to which the Precedents relate; Which being taken into Consideration; as also the former Precedent, of the Lord Cranfeild's, being a Precedent granted on former Precedent;

Resolved, &c. That this House doth adhere to their former Opinion touching the Manner of Proceeding against the Lord Mordant, upon the Articles of Impeachment against him.

Ordered, That a free Conference be desired to be had with the Lords, upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference, touching the Manner of Proceeding against the Lord Mordant.

And Sir Robert Holt is to desire the Conference.

Ordered, That it be referred to the former Managers, with the Addition of Sir John Birkenhead and Mr. Scawen, to prepare Reasons to be insisted on at the Conference.

Prisoners Relief.

Mr. Millward reports from the Committee to which the Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners was committed, some Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the Amendments, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Rebuilding London.

The House then resumed the Debate of the Matter upon the Bill for rebuilding the City of London:

And some Amendments being, upon the Question, agreed; and made thereto, at the Table;

A Proviso for authorizing the Lord Mayor and Aldermen to set out the Streets and Places intended to be enlarged, by a Day, was read.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be read a Second time;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went out.

Another Proviso, for enlarging several Streets, was tendered; and twice read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for rebuilding the City of London.

And Mr. Steward is to carry up the Bill to the Lords.

Prisoners Relief.

Amendments to the Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners, and Setting of them on Work, were twice read; and agreed to.

Estates for Lives.

A Bill, sent from the Lords, for Redress of Inconveniences by want of Proof of the Deceases of Persons beyond the Seas, or absenting themselves, upon whose Lives Estates do depend, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time Tomorrow Morning.

Swaffham Prior.

A Bill, sent from the Lords, for Uniting of Parishes in Swaffham Saint Cyriac, and Swaffham Saint Maries, within the Town of Swaffham Prior in the County of Cambridge; and for uniting the Two Churches there; was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Solom. Swale, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Sir Fran. Goodrick, Colonel Birch, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir Jo. Brampston, Mr. Chichley, Mr. Trevor, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Hobby, Mr. Buscawen, Lord Allington, Mr. Progers, Mr. Wren, Sir Bainham Throckmorton, Mr. Lucy, Mr. Crooke, Mr. Chowne, and all that serve for the County of Cambridge: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Replevins.

An ingrossed Bill for extending a former Act concerning Replevins and Avowries to the Principality of Wales, and the County Palatines, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And the Title shall be, An Act for extending a former Act concerning Replevins and Avowries to the Principality of Wales, and the County Palatines.

Hilton's Charity.

Mr. Pryn reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for settling the Charity of Baron Hilton was committed, several Amendments and Additions, agreed by the Committee to be added to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And all the Amendments, and the Provisoes, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

St. Clement's Danes, &c.

A Petition, intituled, The Petition of the several Parishes of Saint Clement's Danes, Richmond, and Walton upon the Thames, was read.

Impeachment of Lord Mordant.

Sir Robert Holt reports, That he had delivered the Desires of this House to the Lords for a free Conference, upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference, concerning the Impeachment against the Lord Mordant: And being withdrawn, and called in, the Lord Privy Seal returned him this Answer; viz.

That the Lords had considered of the Message; and acquainted him, That they had already stated the Order of Proceedings upon the Tryal on the Impeachment of the Lord Mordant; and do adhere to their former Order therein; and are ready to proceed.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
