Prayers.
Swaffham Prior.
AN ingrossed Bill for ascertaining the Bounds of the several Rectories of Swaffham Saint Ciriar, and Swaffham Saint Mary's within the Town of Swaffham Prior, in the County of Cambridge; and for the uniting the Two Church . . there; was read.
Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time on Monday next.
French Manufactures.
Sir George Downing reports from the Committee to which the Bill against the Importation of French Manufactures and Commodities was committed, several Amendments agreed to be made to the Bill; and also the Opinion of the Committee for Ten Shillings per Tun to be imposed on Wines, for a Recompence to his Royal Highness the Duke of Yorke, for the Prejudice to him in his Wine Licences: Which he read; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.
Rebuilding London.
Sir George Downing reports from the Committee appointed to draw up and bring in a Clause touching the Space to be left unbuilt next the Thames, a Clause, agreed by the Committee to be added to the Bill for rebuilding the City of London: Which was twice read: And some Alterations, upon the Question, agreed, and made at the Table;
Resolved, &c. That the Clause, so amended, be agreed to; and made Part of the Bill.
Another Clause for an Imposition on Coals, towards the re-edifying the Guildhall Hall, and other publick Buildings belonging to the City of London, was twice read.
Resolved, &c. That the said Clause be committed to the Committee of the whole House.
Impeachment of Lord Mordant.
Ordered, That Sir Thomas Littleton be added to the Managers of the Business against the Lord Viscount Mordant.
Bills sent to Lords, &c.
Ordered, That Mr. Pepis do carry up such Bills as are ready, to the Lords: And do desire a Conference with the Lords, on the Bill concerning the Plague.
Ordered, That Mr. Solicitor General, Serjeant Charleton, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Pepis, Mr. Waller, Sir Thomas Gower, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir Thomas Meres, be appointed to manage the Conference.
Poll Bill.
An ingrossed Bill to explain the former, for raising Money by a Poll, was read.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act explanatory of the Act for raising Money by the Poll, and otherwise, towards the Maintenance of the present War.
French Manufactures.
Ordered, That the Amendments to the Bill against French Commodities be taken into Consideration next after the Bill for rebuilding the City is dispatched.
Impeachment of Ld. Mordant.
Mr Seymour reports, Two Reasons agreed by the Committee, to be offered at the Conference to be had with the Lords, touching the Manner of Proceeding in the Tryal upon the Impeachment against the Lord Viscount Mordant.
Ordered, That Mr. Seymour do desire the Conference with the Lords.
Rebuilding London.
The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, upon the Clause for an Imposition on Coal, towards the rebuilding the Guildhall, and other publick Buildings belonging to the City of London.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Steward took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Steward reports, That the Committee of the whole House had considered of the said Clause; and made several Resolutions thereupon; consisting in Substance, with the Matter of the same; and that it wanted only the Drawing up in Form.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
