Prayers.

Plympton Writ.

ORDERED, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a Writ, for the Electing of a Burgess to serve for the Borough of Plympton in the County of Devon, in the room of Sir Richard Strode, deceased.

Privilege.

Ordered, That John Clay be sent for, in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, for his Contempt, in the Breach of Privilege of this House, in seizing and detaining the Coach of Henry Brunckard Esquire, a Member of this House.

Impeachment of Ld. Mordant.

Mr. Seymour acquaints the House, That he had delivered the Message for a Conference with the Lords, concerning the Manner of Proceeding upon the Impeachment against the Lord Mordant; and that, after some Debate, the Lords acquainted him, They would return Answer by Messengers of their own.

Ld. Abergeveny's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, for confirming and enlarging an Act, intituled, An Act to enable John Lord Abergeveny to sell Lands, was read the First and Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Solom. Swale, Sir Thomas Lee, Doctor Burrell, Mr. Millward, Mr. Mallet, Sir Charles Harbord, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Clifford Clifton, Sir John Monson, Sir Thom. Allen, Mr. Grey, Sir John Talbott, Mr. Morice, Colonel Sandys, Sir Fran. Goodrick, Lord Allington, Mr. Waller, Mr. Crouch, Sir Wm. Terringham, Sir John Coriton, Lord Seymour, Sir Wm. Haward, Mr. Hyde, Mr. Lucy, Mr. Hungerford: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Hemp and Flax.

The Question being put, That the Report of the Amendments of the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, for the Encouragement of the Planting and Sowing of Hemp and Flax be made;

Mr. Steward accordingly reports some Amendments and Additions, agreed by the Committee to be made to the said Bill: Which he read in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which were read.

The First Amendment was read the Second time:

The Question being put, To agree with the Committee in the First Amendment, Line the Twelfth, for making Five Shillings to be Two Shillings and Six-pence;

Impeachment of Ld. Mordant.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Justinian Lewin and Sir Wm. Child;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords agreed to a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, concerning the Impeachment of the Lord Mordant.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Meeres be added to the Committee appointed to manage the Evidence at the Hearing upon the Articles of Impeachment against the Lord Mordant.

Rebuilding London.

Mr. Steward reports the Clause for laying an Imposition on Coals, to be added to the Bill for rebuilding the City of London: Which he read in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which being twice read; and after some Amendments made at the Table thereunto; was, upon the Question, agreed.

Resolved, &c. That the said Clause be made Part of the Bill.

Rebuilding Churches.

Mr. Secretary Morice acquaints the House, from his Majesty, That his Majesty doth especially recommend to the Care of this House, to make some Provision for the Rebuilding of Churches in the Bill for rebuilding the City.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill for the Rebuilding of the City of London, with the Amendments, Additions, and Provisoes, agreed to, be ingrossed.

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to Sir Thomas Meeres, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Jones, Sir Wm. Thompson, Sir Robert Howard, Mr. Jolliffe, Sir Job Charlton, Mr. Steward, Mr. Solicitor General, Sir Thom. Lee, Mr. Secretary Morice, Colonel Birch, or any Five or more of them, to prepare and bring in a Bill for the making Provision for the Building of the Thirty-nine Churches; for providing for the Rights of the Patrons of such Churches as shall not be rebuilt; for the Maintenance of the Ministers of the Churches to be rebuilt; and for ascertaining the Divisions of the Parishes: And they are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Journal.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to inspect the Journal be revived; and do examine the same every Saturday.

Rebuilding London.

Ordered, That the House do sit this Afternoon; and to proceed upon no other Business than the Bill for rebuilding the City of London.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Rebuilding London.

The ingrossed Bill for rebuilding the City of London was read the Third time.-

Impeachment of Lord Mordant.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Justinian Lewin and Sir Wm. Child;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to acquaint you, That they intend to sit this Afternoon at Five of the Clock: And at the same time desire a Conference with this House, in the Painted Chamber, upon the Impeachment against the Lord Mordant.

The Messengers being called in; Mr. Speaker acquaints them, That this House do agree to a Conference, as desired.

Ordered, That the Persons appointed to manage the Conference against the Lord Mordant do attend this Conference.

Mr. Seymour reports, That they had attended the Conference with the Lords; which was managed by the Earl of Bridgwater and the Earl of Anglesey: And that the Lords had confirmed their Order, as to the Posture of the Lord Mordant, of the Twenty-eighth of January, for his Lordship sitting within the Bar at his Trial: Which they were confirmed in by the Precedents of the Bishop of Landaffe, 18 Jac.; and the Lord Stamford, in 1645 And that they were ready to proceed in the Tryal To-morrow Morning.

Ordered, That the Debate upon the Conference be adjourned till To-morrow Morning: And that, in the mean time, the Committee appointed to manage the Impeachment against the Lord Mordant, do inquire and search into the Precedents of the Bishop of Landoffe and the Lord Stamford, cited by the Lords, at the Conference upon the Impeachment of the Lord Mordant; and to report the same To-morrow Morning.-
