Restoring Scawen.

AN ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for Restoring of Francis Scawen Gentleman, in Blood, was read the Second time.

Ordered, That the said Bill be now read a Third time.

Which was done.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title be agreed to.

Privilege.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee of Privileges, touching the Breach of Privilege committed by Thomas White against Mr. Chowne, a Member of this House, be heard To-morrow Morning.

Poyntz's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill for settling the Moiety of the Manor of Iron Acton on Sir John Poyntz was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for settling the Moiety of the Manor of Iron Acton on Sir John Poyntz.

And the Lord Herbert is to carry up the Bill to the Lords.

An ingrossed Bill for Confirmation of a Settlement of the Estate of Sir Seymour Shirley Baronet, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for Confirmation of the Settlement of the Estate of Sir Seymour Shirley Baronet.

Supply Bill.

Sir George Downing reports from the Committee appointed to prepare and bring in a Clause, and for retaining Monies to pay the Seamen, to be added to the Bill of the monthly Assessment, That the Committee had drawn up a Clause, according to the Direction of the House: Which he read; and delivered in at the Clerk's Table.

And the Clause being twice read;

Ordered, That the Clause be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Impeachment of Ld. Mordant.

The Copy of the Lord Mordant's Answer to the Articles of Impeachment, sent up against him from this House to the Lords, was read.

Ordered, That Sir Wm. Lowther do go up to the Lords, to desire their Lordships to appoint a Day for proceeding on the Articles of Impeachment against the Lord Viscount Mordant; and to put them in mind of the Bill for erecting a Judicature for determining Causes touching Houses burnt down or demolished by reason of the late Fire, which began in London; and desire them to take it into Consideration.

Supply Bill.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed on the further Debate of the monthly Assessment.

Impeachment of Ld. Mordant.

Sir Wm. Lowther reports an Answer from the Lords, to the Message by him carried up to their Lordships, That they had appointed Saturday for proceeding on the Articles against the Lord Viscount Mordant: And, as to other Matters in the Message, they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Supply Bill.

Mr. Steward reports from the Committee of the whole House, the several Amendments, Clauses, and Provisoes, agreed by the Committee to be inserted and added to the Bill of the monthly Assessment: Which he read with the Coherence; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the several Amendments, Clauses, and Provisoes, were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

A Proviso for Taxing of the Land belonging to Newport School in the County of Salop was tendered; and read the First time.

The Question being put, That this Proviso be read the Second time;

It passed in the Negative.

A Proviso for Rating of the Borough of Thetford in the Counties of Northfolke and Suffolke, to pay in such County as it hath usually and formerly paid to publick Payments before 1648, and since his Majesty's Restoration, was tendered.

The Question being put, That this Proviso be read;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That the Bill, with the Amendments, Clauses, and Provisoes, agreed to, be ingrossed.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, being ingrossed, be read the Third time on Friday Morning next.

Resolved, &c. That the Report concerning the Petition of several Merchants trading to France be made Tomorrow Morning, Nine of the Clock; nothing to intervene.
