Prayers.

Preacher appointed.

ORDERED, That Mr. Crouch be desired to give Notice to the Ministers appointed to officiate on Sunday next, that the House intends to receive the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper on that Day in Saint Margaret's, Westminster, according to former Order.

Owen's Petition.

A Petition of Hugh Owen Esquire, was read.

Ordered, That the Petition be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections; to examine the Matter; and report it, with their Opinions, to the House.

Devon Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a Writ, for Electing of a Knight of the Shire for the County of Devon, in the room of Sir Hugh Pollard, deceased.

Fire of London Judicature.

A Bill for erecting a Judicature for the Determining of Causes between Landlord and Tenant, touching Houses burnt down in the late calamitous Fire, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to the Committee to which a former Bill for Staying of Suits between Landlord and Tenant, touching Houses burnt down by the late Fire, was committed; which is revived: And that all the Members which shall come are to have Voices: And they are to meet on Monday next at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Mildmay's Estate.

Sir Richard Everard reports from the Committee to which the Bill for Payment of Debts, and making Provision for the Wife and Children of Henry Mildmay Esquire, by Sale of Lands, was committed, some Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which were twice read by the Clerk; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed, be ingrossed.

Supply Bill.

A Bill for raising Part of One million Eight hundred thousand Pounds Supply for his Majesty, by Eleven Months Assessment in Post Charge, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read the Second time on Monday next.

Bodvile's Estate.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill for setting aside a pretended Will, and settling the Estate of John Bodvile Esquire, deceased, be read on Monday next.

Poll Bill.

Mr. Steward reports from the Committee to which the Matter was referred, upon the Amendment to the Poll Bill, for assessing the Rate where Families reside at the Time of the Execution of the Act, That the Committee had agreed a Clause, in pursuance of the Debate of the House: Which he read, with the Coherence; and delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the same being twice read; and some Alterations, upon the Question, agreed, and made Part thereto;

Resolved, &c. That the Clauses so altered be agreed to; and made Part of the Bill.

A Proviso tendered, for taking away all Fees, Salaries, and Rewards, from the Treasurer of the Navy, and Officers of Exchequer, for Monies paid by Anticipation, was twice read.

The Question being put, That this Proviso be added, and made Part of the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

An additional enacting Clause for taking an Accompt, upon Oath, of the Publick Monies, was tendered; and twice read.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be committed to the Committee of the whole House;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went out.

Ordered, That the Words "Privileges," and not "privileged Places," be inserted into the Bill, into the several Places where it is necessary.

Ordered, That the Knights of the Shires for the several Counties do look over the Names of the Commissioners appointed in the Act for the Royal Aid: And, if they find Occasion, to bring in a Note of additional Names of Commissioners to be added in the Poll Bill.

Receiving the Sacrament.

The Question being put, That Leave be given for speaking against the Orders made to receive the Sacrament on Sunday next;
