Atheism, &c.

A BILL against Atheism, Profaneness, and Swearing, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Mr. Pryn, Sir Robert Atkins, Serjeant Mainard, Mr. Solicitor General, Sir Edw. Masters, Sir Charles Harbord, Mr. Whorwood, Sir Thom. Gower, Mr. Hungerford, Mr. Millward, Sir Wm. Lewis, Lord Richardson, Sir Edm. Pearse, Mr. Crooke, Sir Thom. Dolman, Colonel Legg, Sir Robert Holt, Sir Edm. Wallpoole, Sir Thom. Clifford, Sir Thom. Allen, Mr. Coleman, Sir Lanc. Lake, Colonel Birch, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Sir John Duncombe, Colonel Reames, Sir Edm. Poole, Sir Wm. Fleetwood, Mr. Dowdeswell, Mr. Hardresse, Sir Wm. Gawdy, Sir John Holland, Mr. Devereux, Mr. Sandys, Colonel Phillips, Mr. Daniell, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir John Heath, Sir John Goodrick, Mr. Crouch, and all the Gentlemen of the House that are of the Long Robe: And all the Members of this House that shall come, are to have Voices: And they are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber; and to look into the former Laws concerning this Matter; and to repeal what they find necessary to be repealed; and reduce them all into one Law, if they can; and provide for the effectual Execution of it: And that it be referred to this Committee to prepare and bring in a Bill for the better Observation of the Lord's Day: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

May's Petition.

A Petition of Baptist May Esquire was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to the Committee of Elections, to examine the Matter of the Petition; and certify it, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Hemp and Flax.

Ordered, That Sir Thom. Dolman, Sir James Thyn, Colonel Reames, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Daniell, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Richard Oateley, Mr. Devereux, be added to the Committee to which the Bill concerning Hemp and Flax is committed.

Fire of London.

Ordered, That Mr. Daniell, Sir Thom. Higgons, Mr. Devereux, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir James Thyn, Mr. Coleman, Mr. Dowdeswell, Mr. Churchill, Sir Thom. Dolman, Sir Thom. Tompkins, Mr. Millward, Lord St. John, Sir Edm. Pearse, Sir Thom. Allen, Mr. Hungerford, be added to the Committee appointed to inquire into the Causes of the late Fire.

Ways and Means.

Ordered, That the House do resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Debate of the Means of effectual raising Eighteen hundred thousand Pounds Supply for his Majesty.

And accordingly Mr. Speaker left the Chair: And

Mr. Millward took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Millward reports, That the Committee of the whole House had made some further Progress in Debate of the Means of raising Eighteen hundred thousand Pounds for his Majesty's Supply: And desired the House would, To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock, resolve into a Committee, to proceed in the further Debate thereof.

Resolved, That the House will, To-morrow at Ten of the Clock in the Morning, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Debate of the effectual raising Eighteen hundred thousand Pounds for his Majesty's Supply.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
