AN additional Bill for the Relief of the Poor was read the Second time.

A Petition of the Inhabitants of Westminster, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill, and Petition, be committed to Mr. Ashburnham, Sir Rich. Everard, Mr. Waller, Sir Fra. New Buildings.

A Bill to prevent the Increase of new Buildings in and about the Cities of London and Westminster, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to the same Committee to which the additional Bill for Relief of the Poor is committed: And they are to meet on Friday next in the Exchequer Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Marshes gained from the Sea.

Ordered, That the Bill for the settling the Marshes, fresh or salt, that shall be gained from the Sea, be read on Thursday next.

Bedford Level.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill for the Draining of Bedford Level, with the several Amendments, Clauses, and Provisoes agreed to, be ingrossed.

Sectaries, &c.

Ordered, That the House will, on Thursday next, proceed in the further Debate of the Matter upon the Bill to prevent the Meetings of Sectaries, Non-conformists, and Dissenters from the Church of England.

Clothiers.

Ordered, That the House will, on Friday Morning next, if the Time will serve, proceed in the further Consideration of the Report concerning the Clothiers: But if the other publick Business, which is to have Preference, will not give Leave, that then the House will sit on Friday in the Afternoon, for Dispatch of this Business.

Excise.

Ordered, That the additional Bill concerning the Excise, be read the Second time on Friday Morning next, the first Bill.

Supply.

The House did then resume the Debate of the Matter upon the Report of the Committee of the whole House, touching the King's Majesty's present Supply, by way of Subsidy.

Resolved, &c. That there be a Restriction as to the real Value of Goods; having Regard to Debts and other necessary Expences, . . . with relation to former Precedents of Subsidies, in the Reigns of King James and King Charles the First, in the Manner of Taxing and Levying thereof.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee of the whole House, That the Proportion of a Subsidy of Land shall be Four Shillings per Pound.

Resolved, &c. That the House doth agree with the Committee of the whole House, That the Proportion of a Subsidy upon Goods shall be Two Shillings and Eight-pence in the Pound.

Resolved, &c. Nemine Contradicente, That the King's Majesty shall have Four Subsidies granted him, for his present Supply.

Resolved, &c. Nemine Contradicente, That these Four Subsidies be paid by the First Day of May next.

Resolved, &c. Nemine Contradicente, That the Two first of the Four Subsidies shall be raised and paid, by the First Day of November next.

Ordered, That it be recommended to Sir Heneage Finch, his Majesty's Solicitor General, to prepare and bring in a Bill, according to ancient Form, and pursuant to the Votes and Directions of the House.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees, that were Yesterday discontinued, be revived; and do sit this Afternoon, in the Places formerly appointed.
