E. of Kent's Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for the settling the Lands of the Earl of Kent, and the Lord Lucas, on the Marriage of the said Earl with the Daughter and Heir-apparent of the said Lord Lucas, was read.

Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second Time To-morrow Morning.

Merchants, &c.

A Petition of several Merchants, Tradesmen, Artificers, Victuallers, and others, was read.

Bedford Level.

Ordered, That the House do sit To-morrow in the Afternoon: And that the Debate of the Matter upon the Vote of the House, concerning Bedford Level, be then taken into Consideration.

Arrears of Excise.

A Bill concerning the Arrears of the Excise was read.

The Question being put, That this Bill be read the Second time To-morrow Morning;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Supply.

The House did then resume the Matter touching his Majesty's present Supply.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair: And, resuming the Chair again;

The Question being put, That Sir Robert Atkins be called to the Chair of the Committee;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Sir Robert Atkins took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker again took the Chair.

Sir Robert Atkins reports from the said Committee, the Opinion of the Committee, That the present Supply to his Majesty shall be levied by Way of Subsidy; and that the House would name a Committee, to search and examine the Rolls in the Exchequer, of Subsidies granted in the Times of Queen Elizabeth, King James, and the late King Charles; and to report to the House, What the Proportions of the several Counties were upon those Rolls: And that the Committee be impowered to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Resolved, That this House agree with the Committee, That the present Supply to his Majesty shall be levied by way of Subsidy.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee, That a Committee be appointed of the Members following, viz. Sir Robert Atkins, Mr. Solicitor General, Sir Allan Apsley, Mr. Coventry, Mr. Vaughan, Sir John Duncombe, Sir Francis Goodricke, Sir Anth. Cope, Sir Thomas Meeres, Sir Wm. Doyley, Lord Richardson, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Yorke, Serjeant Keeling, Sir Edmond Peirse, Sir Edm. Pooley, Sir Wm. Compton, Sir Tho. Widdrington, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir Charles Harbord, Mr. Clifford, Sir Gilbert Garrard, Sir Phillip Warwicke, Mr. Garraway, Sir Sol. Swale, Mr. Oneale, Mr. Knight, Mr. Phillips, Master of the Rolls, Lord St. John, Sir Hump. Winch, Mr. Treasurer, Sir Bay. Throckmorton, Sir John Norton, Sir Wm. Lewis, Serjeant Charleton, Colonel Gyles Strangwayes, Mr. Strickland, Mr. Mountague, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Tho. Gowre, Colonel Fretchvile, Sir Tho. Peyton, Serjeant Maynard, Mr. Stroude, Sir Rich. Temple, Sir Rich. Onslow, Mr. Scawen, Lord Bruce, Sir Charles Hussey, Serjeant Seys, Mr. Milward, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir John Holland, and all the Members of this House that are of the Long Robe; or any Five of them: And the said Committee are to search and examine the Rolls in the Exchequer, of Subsidies granted in the Time of Queen Elizabeth, King James, and the late King Charles; and report to the House, What the Proportions of the several Counties were upon those Rolls; and the total Sum of each Subsidy: And the said Committee have Power to send for Persons, Papers, and Records: And that they have Power to require such Persons as they shall think fit, to assist them in the Premises: And the said Committee are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber; and to make their Report, as aforesaid, on Thursday Morning next: And the especial Care hereof is referred to Mr. Vaughan, Serjeant Maynard, and Mr. Pryn.

Privilege-Charge against Sir R. Temple.

Sir Richard Temple informs the House, That in pursuance of the Leave given him by this House, he had petitioned his Majesty, for the Name of the Person who had given a Representation of him to his Majesty: And that Mr. Secretary Morrice told him, He should receive his Answer in the House.

Mr. Secretary Morrice delivers a Message, from his Majesty, in Writing, concerning Sir Richard Temple.

Which Mr. Speaker read.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee formerly appointed to examine the Matter touching the Representation of Sir Richard Temple to the King, to consider, upon the present Debate, How far the House is concerned therein; and to report their Opinion, What is fit to be done in the Business: And Mr. Vaughan and Mr. Solicitor General are added to the said Committee.

The House adjourns till To-morrow, Eight a Clock in the Morning.
