Gold and Silver Wire.
A BILL to prevent Frauds and Abuses in Gold and Copper Wire, was this Day read the First time.
The Question being put, That this Bill be read the Second time on Thursday next;
It passed in the Negative.
Coinage.
A Bill against melting down the Silver Coin of the Nation, was this Day read the Second time.
Resolved, That this Bill be committed to the same Committee to which the Bill for preventing Frauds in Gold and Silver Wire is committed.
Wearing Gold and Silver Lace.
Ordered, That a Bill be brought in against the Wearing of Gold and Silver Lace, Buttons, Ribbands, or any other Trimmings for Cloaths, of Gold or Silver, and against Gilding of Coaches and Signs; and all Things else that may waste the Coin of the Kingdom: And it is recommended to Mr. Birch, to . . care of the Bringing in of this Bill.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Mr. Rigby have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.
Bone Lace, &c.
Ordered, That a Bill be brought in against the Wearing of Foreign Bone Lace: And Sir Courtney Poole, Mr. Peter Prideaux, and Mr. Sandys, are to take care to bring it in.
Knollys' Estate.
Sir John Duncombe reports from the Committee to which the Bill for enabling Mr. Thomas Knollys to pay Debts of his Brother Sir Henry Knollys, and to provide for younger Children, was committed, several Amendments to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Which said Amendments, being severally twice read, were, upon the Question, agreed unto.
Resolved, That the said Bill, with the said Amendments so agreed to, be ingrossed.
Relief of Loyalists.
The Lord Bruce reports from the Committee to which the Bill for Relief of such Persons as were maimed or necessitous, that had served the late King, or his now Majesty, was committed, several Amendments to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Which said Amendments, but the last, were, upon the Question, agreed to.
And the Question being put, To agree to the last Amendment;
It passed in the Negative.
Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill, with the said Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Vane and Lambert.
Upon reading of the humble Petition of Ralph Hodgeson, and divers others, the Tenants to Sir Henry Vane, within the Manors of Raby and Barnard Castle, in the Bishoprick of Durham;
Ordered, That his Majesty be again humbly moved to give Order for the present bringing back of Sir Henry Vane and John Lambert, in order to their speedy Tryal: And that Indictments be forthwith preferred against them: And that the Petition of Sir Henry Vane's Tenants be presented to his Majesty: And that his Majesty be desired to take the same into his Princely Consideration.
Ordered, That Mr. Treasurer, Mr. Ashburnehnm, Mr. Oneale, and Sir William Lowther, do attend his Majesty with this Order.
Privilege-Libellous Letter.
Upon reading of a seditious Letter, signed by one John Gregory, and directed to William Johnson, to be communicated to the Lord Lieutenant, the High Constable, and the rest of his Brethren;
Ordered, That a Committee be appointed of the Persons under-named; viz. Lord Falkland, Mr. Churchill, Lord Brereton, Sir John Robinson, Colonel Robinson, Mr. Lewes Palmer, Sir Edmond Peirse, Sir Thomas Strickland, Sir William Lowther, Mr. Clifford, Lord Bruce: And they are to examine the said Gregory, concerning the said Letter; and what else they shall conceive pertinent thereunto: And they, or any Five of them, are to meet in the Speaker's Chamber on Friday next, at Two of the Clock.
Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, do bring in Custody the said John Gregory, being now a Prisoner in Newgate, to the said Committee, to be examined: And the Keeper of Newgate is to give Obedience to this Order.
