Parliaments and Elections.

THE House, according to former Order, was this Day resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Heads of a Bill for future Parliaments, and regulating Elections.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Say took the Chair.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Member to be examined.

Resolved, That Mr. John Ash, a Member of Parliament, be examined before the High Court of Justice, in the Case of Sir John Stowell.

Papists Estates.

The House did this Day resume the Debate upon the Report made Yesterday, by Mr. Myles Corbett, of an Abstract of the yearly Values of the Estates of Papists, Delinquents, and Two Third Parts of Papists under Sequestration.

City Officers.

An Act for continuing Two several Acts; the one intituled, An Act disabling the Election of divers Persons to any Office or Place of Trust within the City of London, and the Votes of such Persons in such Elections; and the other intituled, An Act concerning the Election of Questmen, Constables, and all other subordinate Officers whatsoever, within the City of London, and the Liberties thereof, for one Year, from the Eighteenth Day of December 1650; was this Day read the First and Second time.

And the Question being put, That this Act be committed;

It passed with the Negative.

And the Question being put, That the said Act be ingrossed;

It passed with the Negative.

And the Act, being put to the Question, passed. And

It is Ordered, That the said Act be forthwith printed and published.

Reports deferred.

Ordered, That Lieutenant General Ludlow do make the Reports, and be heard the other Businesses in his Hand, on Friday Morning next.

Letters read.

A Letter from Colonel Robert Blague, from aboard the Leopard, in the Road of Malaga, 30 Octobris 1650, was this Day read.

A Letter from the Lord General Cromwell, the Tenth of December 1650, was this Day read: With a Paper of Intelligence, from the Lord General Cromwell, was this Day read.
