Prayers.

Clerk of late House of Peers.

RESOLVED, by the Parliament, That Mr. Millington do make the Report, touching Mr. Browne, late Clerk of the late House of Peers, his Recompence for his Interest in the House, late belonging to the said Office, and his Pension, To-morrow Morning, the first Business after Mr. Speaker takes the Chair.

Ld. Deincourt's Estate.

Mr. Lechmere reports from the Committee to whom the Proviso to the Bill for Sale of all the Manors, Lands, &c. of the Lord Deincourt, was committed, The Opinion of that Committee, That the Proviso committed be laid aside: And that the Proviso now agreed at the Committee, be reported to the House.

The Question being put, That the Proviso, formerly committed, do continue Part of the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

The Proviso, or Clause, reported by the Committee, was twice read, being in these Words; viz. "Provided always, and be it further Enacted and Declared, That the Manors, Lands, Tenements, and Premises, situate, and being within the County of Derby, other than the Tythes aforementioned, growing and increasing within the Towns, Villages, or Parishes of Duckmanton, Starcliff, Hacknall, Tibshelf, Clapwell, and Alfreton, in the said County of Derby, be, from and after such Time as the said Launcelott Lake, and Thomas Leek, the Survivor of them, are and is, by this Act, enabled to demand, take, have, and receive the Rents and Profits thereof, charged, subject and liable, for and during the Life of the said Francis Lord Deincourt, to and with the yearly Payments of Fourscore Pounds apiece to Elizabeth, Meriall, Frances, and Penelope Leek, four of the Daughters of the said Lord Deincourt, for and towards the Maintenance of them the said Elizabeth, Meriall, Frances, and Penelope, during the Life of the said Lord Deincourt, the said several Sums of Eighty Pounds per Annum, to be yearly paid to the said Elizabeth, Meriall, Frances, and Penelope, by quarterly Payments, at the Four most usual Times of Payment: And if it shall happen, the said yearly Sums, or any of them, to be behind and unpaid, at any of the Times, at which, by this Act, the same ought to be paid, that then it shall be lawful to and for the said Elizabeth, Meriall, Frances, and Penelope, respectively, into the said Manors and Premises, in the said County of Derby (other than the Tythes aforementioned) to enter, and distrain; any thing in this Act to the contrary notwithstanding."

Resolved, That these Words be added to the Proviso, now reported; viz. "That is to say, on the Five-andtwentieth Day of December; the Five-and-twentieth Day of March; the Four-and-twentieth Day of June; and the Nine-and-twentieth of September."

Resolved, That this Proviso, so amended, be Part of the Bill.

A Proviso was tendered to this Act, "That there shall be yearly allowed and paid to the Lady Anne Deincourt, Wise of the said Lord Deincourt, during the Coverture, or to such Person or Persons, as the shall by Writing under her Hand appoint, the Rents, Issues, and Profits of the Fifth Part of the Manors, Lands, and Tenements aforesaid, for her present Support and Maintenance: Which the Ter' Tenants of the Premises are hereby ordered to pay accordingly."

Which was this Day read the First time.

And the Question being put, That this Proviso be read the Second time;

It passed with the Negative.

And the said Act, being put to the Question, with the Proviso, so amended, passed.

Earl of Downe's Estate.

Mr. Garland reports Amendments to an Act for enabling the Earl of Downe to sell Lands to the Value of Five hundred Pounds per Annum, to Pay his Fine, and other his Debts: Which were this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

And the Question being put, That the said Act be ingrossed;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So it passed with the Affirmative.

Embassy from Pottagud.

A Letter directed, "Parliamento Reipublicæ Anglæ," subscribed, "Excellentiarum vestrarum addictissionus Sercitor et Amicus, Joao de Guimaraes;" from Humpton, 15 die Decembris sin Nov. Stil. Anno 1650.

Resolved, That the Debate of this Business be taken up on Thursday Morning, the first Business.

Commissioners of Assessments.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Gentlemen of the County of Somersett, being Members of this House, to consider of such other Persons as are fit to be added as Commissioners for that County, in the Act for the Assessments; and to report their Opinions therein to the House.

Collins' Petition.

The Petition of Cicily Collins, was this Day read.

Irish Commissioners.

Resolved, That the Commissioners appointed to go to Ireland be at Milford Haven on or by the Five andtwentieth of December instant, For the Furtherance of that Service: And that the Council of State do give Notice to the said Commissioners accordingly.

Papists Estates.

Mr. Myles Corbet reports from the Committee to whom the Business touching Popish Recusants, as well Delinquents as others, was referred,

An Abstract of the yearly Values of the Estates of Papists, Delinquents, and Two Third Parts of Papists under Sequestrations, as they are certified from the Counties hereunder mentioned;

From the Counties hereunder mentioned, no Certificates are yet returned;

Hertford, Lancaster, Northumberland, Anglesey, Brecknock Cardigan, Carmarthen, Carnarvan, Denbigh, Flint, Glamorgan, Merioneth, Pembroke, and Radnor.

Most of the Values above mentioned do include Rents, Annuities, Taxes, and other Charges issuable out of them, to a considerable Value.
