Prayers.

Norwich Weavers.

THE humble Petition of the Worsted Weavers of the City of Norwich, and the County of Norfolk, was this Day read.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for the Bill touching Hats and Hatbands, to consider of this Petition; and report their Opinions to the House: And Alderman Penington, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Toll, Sir Henry Vane senior, Major General Skippon, Mr. Boone, Mr. Gould, Alderman Wilson, are added to that Committee: And all that will come to have Voices.

And the particular Care hereof is referred to Alderman Atkin and Mr. Garland. And the Committee are to fit at Two of the Clock this Afternoon: With Power to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses, Records, or any thing else that may conduce to that Business.

Court of Wards.

Ordered, That Colonel Rich, Colonel Bosvile, Colonel Morley, Colonel Marten, Colonel Fleetwood, Colonel Purefoy, Alderman Penington, Mr. Humfrey Edwards, Sir Gregory Norton, Mr. Blagrave, Mr. Allen, Mr. Smith, Captain Skynner, Mr. Fagg, Mr. Hay, Mr. Carey, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Darley, Sir Henry Vane senior, Mr. Garland, be added to the Committee touching Court of Wards Officers.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Ordered, That the Times formerly limited, and now elapsed; for bringing in of the Monies to be doubled upon the Credit of the Deans and Chapters Lands, shall be enlarged, and have Continuance, unto the First Day of August next, for all those who live in London, or within Twenty Miles distant from the same; and unto the Tenth Day of the same Month of August, for all others of this Nation, or resiant therein: And that all such Persons (as well those that adventure for Ireland, as others) as have or shall pay in any Monies, by way of Doubling, before that Time, shall have Interest allowed them, after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Centum per Annum, as well upon their Bills where Interest is by the Act to be allowed upon Doubling, as for their present Money advanced to double the same.

Dr. Usher's Pension.

Whereas this House did order, the Fifth Day of October 1647, One hundred Pounds quarterly to be paid, out of the Revenues, unto James Usher Doctor in Divinity, for his present Support and Subsistence, and Encouragement in his Studies, during the Space of One Year, which expired the Fifth of October 1648: It is this Day Ordered, by the Commons assembled in Parliament, That the same Allowance shall be paid unto him for the Time passed, from the said Fifth of October last; and shall be continued for the Space of Six Months now next coming, and paid unto the said James Usher, by the Committee of publick Revenue; beginning from the Fifth of October last passed.

Declaration concerning Scotland.

Colonel Purefoy reports from the Council of State, a Declaration of the Parliament of England, concerning the late Endeavours, in a peaceable Way, to remove all Misunderstandings and Differences between the Commonwealth of England, and Kingdom of Scotland.

Which was this Day read.

And the Question being put, That the said Declaration be read again the Second Time;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So the Question passed with the Affirmative.

And the said Declaration was read the Second time; and, upon the Question, passed.

Ordered, That the said Declaration be forthwith printed and published.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to see the said Declaration printed.

Letter read.

A Letter from the Treasurers for Sale of Deans and Chapters Lands, from Gurney House in the Old Jury, 14 Julii 1649, was this Day read.

Crown Lands.

The House resumed the Debate upon the Bill for Sale of the Manors and Lands of the late King, &c.

Resolved, &c. That, after the Word "Parks," the Word "and" be added, before the Word "Lands;" And that, after the Word " Lands," these Words be inserted; viz. "except as hereafter in this Act is excepted and provided for;" and after those Words, these Words, "and all," be inserted: And that, after the Word, "Hereditaments," these Words, "with all and every their Appurtenances," be omitted; and instead thereof, these Words be inserted; viz. " Royalties, Privileges, Franchises, Immunities, and Appurtenances, to the said Honours, Manors, Castles, Parks, Messuages, and Lands, and to all, and every, or any of them, belonging or appertaining, or heretofore lawfully used, occupied, and enjoyed, with them, or any of them, as Part or Parcel thereof.

Resolved, &c. That the like Amendments be made in the Clause.

The Question being propounded, That the Words "or the said Kingly Office," in the Act, do stand;

It passed with the Negative.

And so the Words were rased out.

A Proviso was tendered to this Act, That this Act shall not extend to any Forest, or to any Impropriation, or Parsonage Appropriate, or Reversions or Remainders in the Crown, upon Estates Tails, or to any Concealment, &c.

Ordered, That this Proviso be re-committed to the same Committee: And Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Corbett, and Mr. Garland, are to take especial Care thereof: And the Committee is to meet on Monday Morning at Six of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And the Serjeant is to give Notice hereof to Mr. Attorney General, to be present at that Time.
