AN Act for the Alteration of the original Seal of Caernarvon, Merioneth, and Anglesey, was this Day, read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Sheriff of London.

The House being informed, That the Sheriff of London, and some other Aldermen, were at the Door;

They were called in: And being come to the Bar, Mr. Sheriff Viner said thus;

Mr. Speaker,

The Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council, have commanded me, and these Gentlemen, to present this humble Petition to this honourable House; and to desire that the same may be read.

Which being received; and the Gentlemen being withdrawn, the Petition was read; and was intituled, "The humble Petition of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Commons of the City of London."

The Question being propounded, That this House doth leave it to Alderman Wilson to serve as Sheriff of the City of London; and this House doth declare that they shall take it as an acceptable Service to the Commonwealth, if he doth accept of the said Office;

And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put;

It was Resolved, &c. That this House doth leave it to Alderman Wilson to several as Sheriff of the City of London: And this House doth declare, That they shall take it as an acceptable Service to the Commonwealth, if he doth accept of the said Office.

The said Sheriff and Aldermen being again called in; Mr. Speaker, by Command of this House, gave them this Answer;

Mr. Sheriff,

The House has considered of your Petition, which concerns Two Gentlemen, Members of this House: One of them, Mr. Leman, is now absent; and the House will take a Time to consider of him: And as touching Alderman Wilson, they have commanded me to let you know what their Resolution is, "That this House doth leave it to the said Alderman Wilson to serve as Sheriff of the City of London: And this House doth declare, That they shall take it as an acceptable Service to the Commonwealth, if he doth accept of the said Office for the Year now next coming."

Crown Lands.

Mr. Myles Corbett reports a Proviso to the Act for securing the Arrears of the Soldiers, out of the Lands of the late King, Queen, or Prince: Which was this Day read the First and Second time: And,

Upon the Question, it is Ordered, That that Clause; viz. Provided * * * * * in the Proviso, Yesterday tendered to the said Act, be omitted out of the said Proviso: And that this Proviso, now reported, be added to the Proviso Yesterday tendered to the said Act.

The Question being propounded, That the Two other Parks, called the Middle Park and Bushie Park, at Hampton Court, be excepted out of the said Act.

And the Question being put, That the said Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put;

It was Resolved, &c. That the Two other Parks, called the Middle Park and Bushy Park, at Hampton Court, be excepted out of the said Act.

A Proviso was tendered to this Act, That this Act extend not to the Honour, Manor, and Parks of Woodstock, with the Appurtenances, in the County of Oxford: Which was this Day read the First and Second time.

And the Question being put, That this Proviso be Part of the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

A Proviso being tendered to the said Act, That the said Act extend not to alienate Theobalds House and Park; which was this Day read; and, upon the Question, rejected;

A Proviso being tendered to the said Act, That the said Act extends not to the Site of Pontefract Castle, or the Parks and Lands, with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging; which was this Day read the First and Second time;

A Proviso was tendered to this Act, That this Act extends not to the House called the Wardrobe, with the Appurtenances, nor to the House wherein Sir John Heydon formerly dwelt, belonging to the Office of the Ordnance, in the Parish of Trinity Minories in the County of Middlesex, &c. and the Ground called the Old Artillery Grounds, with all Houses thereon built, situate, lying, and being, without Bishopsgate, in the Parish of Botolph Bishopsgate, London, and the new Artillery Ground: Which was twice read.

And the last Clause being, upon the Question, omitted:

The Proviso, so amended, being put to the Question, was assented unto; and ordered to be Part of the Act.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, upon the Debate of the House, to present some Expedient to the House, in the Matter now had in Debate: Viz. Mr. Attorney General, Colonel Harrison, Colonel Rich, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Marten, Colonel Jones, Mr. Millington, Mr. Goodwin, Major General Skippon, Mr. Challoner, ambo, Mr. Garland, Mr. Holland; or to any Three of them: And this Committee is to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in Mr. Speaker's Chamber; and to report to the House To-morrow Morning.

Resolved, &c. That Colonel Blunt be omitted out of this Bill, desiring to be excused: And that Wm. Bossevile Esquire be inserted, in his place, a Trustee.

A Proviso being tendered to the Act, That original Creditors by Debentures shall have Pre-emption for Ten Days, according to the Rules in the Act, Which was read the First and Second Time; and, with some Alteration at the Table, was, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be Part of the Act.

Attorney General of Ireland.

Ordered, That the Attorney General do prepare a Patent for Mr. Basill to be Attorney General for Ireland, in the same Form that the Attorney General for the Commonwealth of England is now made: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do pass the same under the Great Seal of England accordingly.

Relief of Debtors.

Ordered, That the Bill for the Prisoners be read, the first Business, To-morrow Morning, next after the Act for securing the Soldiers Arrears.
