Thursday, the 7th of May, 1657.

Protector's Answer.

THE Master of the Rolls reports from the Committee appointed to attend his Highness, That the said Committee did attend his Highness Yesterday; and that his Highness told them, That he had the Papers he received from them as an Answer to his Proposals; and told the Committee, That he would give the House a Meeting in the Painted-Chamber, at Eleven of Clock this Day: But that this Morning his Highness sent for as many of the Committee as could be gotten, and desired, That Meeting of the House might be put off, and that the Committee would meet him again this Afternoon, at Five of the Clock.

Resolved, That the Committee formerly appointed to attend his Highness upon the humble Petition and Advice, do attend him again this Afternoon, at Five of Clock, according to his Appointment.

Resolved, That Colonel Gorges report the Bill for Mrs. Bastwick on Monday Morning.

Adjournment.

Resolved, That the House be adjourned until Tomorrow Morning, Eight of Clock.

The House adjourned itself accordingly.
