Monday, the 3d of November, 1656.

Weights and Measures.

ORDERED, That it be referred to a Committee to revise the Statute made in the Seventeenth Year of the late King, touching the Office of Clerk of the Market, and regulating Weights and Measures; and also the Statute of the Eleventh of Henry the Seventh; and to consider of the Assize of Bread; and particularly of RyeBread; and of the Defects in those Statutes; and to prepare an Act for supplying the said Defects, if need be: And that this be referred to the Committee for Trade.

Exports.

An Act for the Exportation of several Commodities of the Breed, Growth, and Manufacture of this Nation, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto the Committee for Trade.

Ordered, That Power be given to this Committee to present to the House how the Blanks in this Bill may be filled up.

Committees.

Ordered, That the several Committees do take Care to dispatch the Bills to them committed, and report them to the House; especially such as are of publick Concernment.

Pardon of Prisoners.

Colonel Shapcot reports from the Committee for Prisoners, the Case of Three Portugalls condemned for Murder; being Servants to the late Portugall Embassador's Brother, who was executed for the said Murder; it not appearing, that the said Persons had an Hand actually therein, but only were present.

Ordered, That the same Committee do bring in a Bill for the Pardon of the Three Portugalls.

Registers.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Business touching the Bill for Registers was committed, do sit this Afternoon.

Popish Recusants.

Ordered, That the Committee for Recusants also do sit this Afternoon: And the Members of this House, who are of that Committee, are enjoined to attend the said Business: And that Mr. Nicolls and Mr. Bedford be added to that Committee.

Purveyance.

A Bill for the taking away of Purveyance, and the Composition for Purveyance, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Attorney of the Duchy, Mr. Robinson, Sir Thomas Wroth, Major Burton, Colonel Rous, Lord Commissioner Whitlock, Lord Broghill, Mr. Sadler, Sir Wm. Sequestered Parsonages, &c.

Mr. Bedford reports Amendments to the Bill for the quiet enjoying of sequestred Parsonages and Vicarages by the present Incumbent: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, re-committed.

Ordered, That this Committee take care, That the Bill commence from a Day to come; and that it have no Retrospect.

Ordered, That Sir Roger Burgoine, Alderman Foote, Mr. Boteler, Colonel Shapcott, Mr. Fowell, Mr. Pedley, be added to this Committee: And they are to meet Tomorrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock.

York Courts of Law.

A Bill for the erecting a Court of Law and a Court of Equity at the City of York, &c. was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time upon Friday Morning next.
