Prayers.
Settling the Government.
THE House was this Day resolved into a Committee of the whole House upon the Government, according to former Order.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins was called to the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins reports from the said Committee, The Desire of the said Committee, to have the Leave of this House to sit again on Wednesday Morning next, upon the Government, according to former Order: And that the Sub-Committees upon several Parts of the Articles may have Leave to sit daily; notwithstanding the Sitting of the Grand Committees.
Resolved, That the Sub-Committees, appointed by the Committee of the whole House, upon the Articles of the Government, do sit daily; notwithstanding the Sitting of the several Grand Committees.
Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Committee of the whole House, and do sit upon the Government, on Wednesday Morning next, according to former Order.
Resolved, That the Committee of the whole House, upon the Government, do make their Report on Tuesday next, of their Proceedings in that Business.
Resolved, That Mr. Hoskins do make Report from the Committee of the whole House, upon the Government, the Proceedings in that Business, on Tuesday Morning next.
Certioraris, &c.
The humble Petition of the Doctors of the Civil Law, on Behalf of themselves and their Profession, was this Day read; and committed to the Committee for Habeas Corpus and Certiorari, &c. to hear the Business; and to report their Opinion to the House: And that Sir Henry Vane, Mr. Stephens, Sir Anth. Ashley Cooper, Mr. Recorder, Colonel Fines, Colonel Fotheringall, Lord Broghill, Mr. Hobart, Mr. Bond, Sir Wm. Strickland, Commissary General Whaley, Colonel Rous, Colonel King, Mr. Nicholl, Mr. Lucy, Mr. Long, Sir John Whitterong, Colonel Zanchey, be added to that Committee.
Cockaine's Petition.
The humble Petition of Bryan Cockaine, Esquire, and Elizabeth his Wife, was this Day read.
Leave of Absence.
Resolved, That Sir John Hobart, a Member of the House, have Leave to go into the Country for Three Weeks.
Bill of Nat.
Ordered, That Mr. Strickland have Leave to bring in a Bill for the Naturalization of Persons born in Parts beyond the Seas.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Mr. Woodhowse, a Member of the House, have Leave to go into the Country for a Month.
