Prayers.
County Registers.
THE House being, by former Order, to be this Day resolved into a Grand Committee upon the Bill for County Registers, the Committee met: But before any Person was in the Chair, Mr. Speaker was called to the Chair by the Grand Committee.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Resolved, That the Members in the Speaker's Chamber, be sent for to attend the Service of the House.
Resolved, That Mr. Speaker do leave Chair.
And Mr. Speaker did, accordingly, leave the Chair.
The House, accordingly, was resolved into a Grand Committee upon the said Bill for County Registers:
Mr. Solicitor-General was called to the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Solicitor-General reports, from the said Grand Committee, as the Opinion of that Committee, That the House be pleased to resume this Bill, and make a select Committee: and to give them Power to confer with the Persons appointed to consider of the Inconveniences and Proceedings of the Law, upon this Bill; and to present a Bill, with such Alterations as the Committee shall think fit.
Resolved, That the House do resume this Bill.
Resolved, That this Bill be committed to a Committee, and that they have Power to confer with the Persons nominated to consider of the Inconveniencies in the Proceedings of the Law; and to present to the House such Amendments and Alterations to this Bill, as the Committee shall think fit: Viz. To Lord General, Lord Chief Justice St. John, Colonel Marten, Sir Arthure Hesilrig, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Scott, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Allein, Mr. Cawley, Mr. Lechmere, Lord Commissioner Whitelock, Sir Tho. Widdrington, Justice Nicholes, Baron Thorpe, Colonel Bennett, Lord Chief Baron, Mr. Browne, Colonel Lister, Sir John Hippisley, Mr. Ellis, Mr. Long, Mr. Hill, Mr. Attorney-General, Sir Henry Vane junior, Major-General Harrison, Colonel Downes, Mr. Hay, Sir Henry Vane, senior, Colonel Fielder, Colonel Dove, Colonel Bossevile, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Garland, Mr. Hallowes, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Maine, Mr. Holland; and all that come to have Voices: And this Committee are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber; with Power to the Committee to send for Persons, Papers, &c. And the Care hereof is committed to Mr. Solicitor, and Mr. Ellis, and that the Lord Commissioner Whitelock, and Lord Chief Justice St. John, do likewise take care of this Business: and that they be dispensed with for their Attendance on their other publick Employments and Places, during that Time.
Circuits.
Resolved, That it be referred to the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, from time to time, to appoint the Judges to go the several Circuits.
Circuits in Wales.
Resolved, That the Commissioners of the Great Seal be impowered to consider of the Commissions and Patents granted to Persons to be Judges in the Circuits in Wales; and to present to the Parliament such Persons as they shall think fit to be sent those Circuits.
