Prayers.

Correspondence with Sweden;

THE Translate of a Letter from the Queen of Sweden, of the 13th of November 1652, from Stockholme, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Letter be referred to the Council of State, to prepare an Answer to be given to the Queen of Sweden.

The Translate of a Letter from Herrald Appelboone, Agent from the Queen of Sweden, of the 17th Day of January 1652, from the Hague, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Letter be referred to the Council of State, to take this Business into Consideration; and present their Opinion therein to the Parliament; and to do therein according to Justice.

with Switzerland;

The Translate of a Letter from the Burgomasters and Council of the City of Zurick, of the 24th of December 1652, was this Day read.

A Letter, in Latin, from the confederate Cantons of Switzerland, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Letter be translated; and brought in on Thursday Morning, the first Business.

with Lubeck;

A Letter from the Consuls, Proconsuls, and Burgomasters of the free Imperial City of Lubeck, of the 14th of December 1652, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Letter be referred to the Council of State, to do therein as they shall find just Cause.

with Switzerland;

Ordered, That the Letter from the Cantons of the Switzers, be referred to the Council of State; with Power to open the same; and present their Opinion therein to the Parliament, on Thursday Morning next.

with Colen.

A Letter from the Senate and Council of the free Imperial City of Colen, of the 4th of December 1652, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Letter be referred to the Council of State.

The humble Remonstrance of John Jacobson, Master of the Stilliard, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Paper, together with the Letter from Lubeck, mentioned therein, be referred to the Council of State.

Correspondence with Portugall.

A Letter, in Latin, from the Lord Ambassador Extraordinary from the King of Portugall, of the 25th of January 1653.

Ordered, That this Letter be referred to the Council of State, to consider thereof; and report their Opinion therein to the Parliament.

Irish Affairs.

A Letter from the Commander in Chief, and Commissioners for the Parliament in Ireland, from Dublin, of the 22th of January 1652, was this Day read.

A Letter from Peter Stubbers, from Gallowey, 16 Januarii 1652; and the Articles upon the Surrender of the Isles of Arran; were this Day read.

A Letter from Commissary-General Reynolds, of the 15th of January 1652, was this Day read.

A Letter from the Commander in Chief, and Commissioners for the Parliament in Ireland, with a Proclamation prohibiting clipt Money to go in Ireland, of the 29th of December 1652, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Letter be referred to the Council of State; and that they report to the Parliament on this Day Sevennight, concerning Clipping of Money, presented from the Commissioners in Ireland; and how Clipping of Money may be prevented in England, Scotland and Ireland.

Countess of Ormond.

A Letter from the Commander in Chief, and Commissioners of the Parliament in Ireland, of the 18th Day of January 1652, from Dublyn; and a Certificate of several Depositions taken in Ireland, touching the Countess of Ormond; were this Day read.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Commissioners of Parliament in Ireland; and that they be impowered and authorized, to set apart, for the Provision of the Countess of Ormond, and her Children, the House called DumoreHouse, near Kilkenny, together with Lands of the clear yearly Value of Two thousand Pounds by the Year, as they were in the Year 1640, out of Lands which were her Father's or Mother's, and late in the Possession of the Earl of Ormond: And that the said Commissioners be authorized to cause the said Lands to be set out, and to settle the Inheritance thereof, upon such Persons as they shall think fit, to be Trustees, in Trust, for the said Countess and her Heirs; and that the said Trustees do take care, that the Profits of the Premises, or any Part thereof, be not disposed of to her Husband; and that Mr. Speaker do write a Letter to the Commissioners for this Purpose.

Ordered, That the said Countess of Ormond be ordered to bring her Children out of France; and that she take care they be educated within the Territories of this Commonwealth.

Ordered, That the Sum of Five hundred Pounds be paid to the said Countess of Ormond, or her Assigns, out of the Revenue in Ireland, by the Commissioners of Parliament in Ireland, for her present Relief.

Ordered, That the Report touching the Lady Ranelagh, be made on Friday next.

Publick Faith.-Poor.

Ordered, That the Public Faith be taken into Consideration on Thursday next: And that, after That, the Act for the Poor be read.

Bishops Lands.

Ordered, That the Act for Confirmation of the Sale of Bishops Lands, &c. be reported on this Day Sevennight.

Carmen.

Ordered, That the Act for Carmen be reported on this Day Sevennight.
