Prayers.

THE Grand Committee of the whole House, according to Order, proceeded to the farther Consideration of keeping scandalous notorious Sinners from the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do direct his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Borough-Town of Malmesbury in the County of Wiltes, in the room and place of Anthony Hungerford Esquire; who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as a Member of this House, during this Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. George Wooldrigh, the Mayor of Redding, be added to the Committee of Berks.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of Two Burgesses for the Borough-Town of Steyning in the County of Sussex, in the rooms and places of Sir Thomas Farnesold, deceased, and Mr. Leeds, disabled, and since deceased.

Ordered, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Borough of East-Greensteed in the County of Sussex, in the room and place of the Lord Buckhurst; who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as a Member thereof, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Town of Salop in the County of Salop, in the room and place of Francis Newport Esquire; who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as a Member thereof, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Borough-Town of Evesham in Worcestershire, in the room and place of John Coventry Esquire; who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to fit as a Member thereof, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of Two Burgesses for the Borough-Town of Rippon in Yorkshire, in the rooms and places of Wm. Mallory Esquire, and Sir John Mallory; being both disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as Members thereof, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess to serve for the Borough-Town of Pomsreet in Yorkshire, in the room and place of Sir George Wentworth of Wolley, disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as a Member thereof, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker shall issue forth a Warrant, under his Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Borough of Knaresborough in Yorkshire, in the room and place of Sir Henry Slingshie; who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as a Member thereof; during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of Two Burgesses for the Borough of Aldborough in Yorkshire, in the rooms and places of Sir Robert Strickland, and Richard Aldburgh Esquire; who are disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as Members thereof, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Borough of Bramber in the County of Sussex, in the room and place of Sir Thomas Bowyer; who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit there as a Member, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Borough-Town of Great-Grimsby in the County of Lincoln, in the room and place of Gervas Holles Esquire; who is disabled to sit as a Member of this House, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess for the Borough-Town of Stamford in Lincolnshire, in the room and place of Geoffrey Palmer Esquire; who, by Judgment of this House, is disabled to sit as a Member, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker shall issue forth a Warrant, under his Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Knight of the Shire for the County of Kent, in the room and place of Sir John Colepeper; who is, by Judgment of the House, disabled to sit as a Member, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of Two Burgesses for the Borough of Scarborough in Yorkshire, in the rooms and places of Sir Hugh Cholmley, disabled, and John Hotham Esquire, disabled, and since deceased.

Resolved, &c. That a Message be sent . . the Lords, to desire them to appoint a Committee, to meet with a Committee of a proportionable Number to be appointed of this House, to hear and receive what shall be propounded by the Scotts Commissioners.

Sir John Clotworthy went up with this Message.

Several Papers and Letters of the Passages in the besieging, storming, entering, and taking the City of Bristoll, Castle, and all the Forts and Arms, were all this Day read.

Ordered, That Threescore Pounds be bestowed upon the Three Messengers, videlicet, Wm. Rabisha, Edward Neve, and Phineas Payne, that brought the great and very good News of taking Bristoll, the Castle, and all the Forts, Cannon, Arms, and Ammunition, to each of them Twenty Pounds: And that this Threescore Pounds be forthwith paid to them, accordingly, by the Committee of the West.

Resolved, &c. That Nathanael Fienis Esquire, a Member of this House, be appointed forthwith to come and attend the Service of the House.

Sir John Clotworthy brings Answer from the Lords, That the Lords do concurr with this House in their Desires; and have appointed a Committee of Ten Lords to meet presently with a proportionable Number of this House, in the Painted Chamber; videlicet,

Mr. Sollicitor, Sir Henry Vane, Sir Henry Mildmay, Lord Fairfax, Sir John Evelyn, Mr. Ellys, Mr. Pierepoint, Sir Peter Wentworth, Serjeant Wilde, Sir Robert Harley, Sir Walter Erle, Mr. Bond, Sir Thomas Widdrington, Sir Wm. Massam, Mr. Lisle, Sir John Clotworthy, Mr. Whitelock, Sir John Cooke, Mr. Knightley, Sir Robert Pye;

This Committee is appointed to meet with a Committee of a proportionable Number of the Lords, to hear and receive such Matters, as shall be propounded by the Scotts Commissioners: And are to meet presently, in the Painted Chamber.

Ordered, That a Warrant do issue, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of Two Burgesses to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Morpeth in the County of Northumberland, in the rooms and places of Sir Wm. Carnaby, and John Fenwick Esquire, formerly chosen to serve for that Borough, disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit as Members during this Parliament; and Mr. Fenwick since deceased.
