Rock Road (Fig. 206)

This lane forms a back lane to the S. of Scotgate.

(287) Terrace, Nos. 12–15, two storeys, coursed rubble, slated roofs, comprising four class 15 houses in two reflecting pairs, was built between 1844 and 1845 for R. Newcomb (Mercury, 20 Sept. 1844; survey of 1845). They are situated on top of warehouses (mon. 425). The front, with round-headed first-floor windows and keystones above a platband, has some architectural pretension for otherwise modest dwellings.

Houses, Nos. 7–8, 9, 10, see mons. (271, 272, 273).
