Robert Vaughan, gent v Edmund Partridge of Ipswich, co. Suffolk, mariner

September - December 1640

Abstract

The cause and result of Vaughan's complaint against Partridge remain unknown as only their bonds of September-October 1640 survive. The case was still continuing at the last sitting of the court on 4 December.

Bound to 'appear in the court in the Painted Chamber within the Pallace of Westminster'.

Signed by Edmund Partridge, Thomas Marsh of Ipswich, mariner and William Maynard of Ipswich, mariner.

Sealed, subscribed and delivered in the presence of Howell Jones, Thomas Atkins and Thomas Body.

Bound to 'appear in the court in the Painted Chamber within the Pallace of Westminster'.

Signed by Robert Vaughan.

Sealed, subscribed and delivered in the presence of John Longland.

Summary of proceedings

Dr Duck acted as counsel in this cause, in which Edmund Partridge was required to appear according to his bond on 24 and 30 October 1640. On 4 December 1640 Partridge's sureties were also required to appear in person.
