Abstract

Vaughan complained that Lloyd gave him the lie 'and bidd a turd in his teeth.' Process was granted on 30 November 1637 and Vaughan entered bond on 15 December; but nothing further survives.

Initial proceedings

3/73, Petition to Arundel

'Your petitioner hath been much abused in words lately by Ewan Lloyd of Towin aforesaid, who gave your petitioner the lye, and bidd a turd in his teeth, with divers other such like words, provoking your petitioner to fight with him.'

Petitioned that Lloyd be brought to answer.

Duck desired Dethick to grant process: 'the petitioner will doubtless prove himself to bee a gentleman', 30 November 1637.

Signed by Arthur Duck.

3/74, Plaintiff's bond

15 December 1637

Bound to appear 'in the Court in the painted Chamber within the Pallace of Westminster'.
