Officers Wives Petition for their Husband's Arrears.
The Petition of the Officers Wives was read; desiring "their Husband's Arrears may be paid;" and Ordered, To (fn. 2) be recommended to the House of Commons.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Wm. Russell Knight and Baronet, and others: It is Ordered, That this House will hear the Difference between them and Lenthall and others, by Counsel on both Sides, at this Bar, the next Monday after the End of this Term; and all Parties to have Notice herein.
Mounson, a Pass.
Ordered, That a Pass shall be granted for Mr. John Mounson to come out of France into England; and the Concurrence of the House (fn. 3)
Sir A. Gorge, a Pass to come within the Lines.
Ordered, That Sir Arthur Gorge shall have a Pass, to come (fn. 4) within the Line of Communication, to attend his Affairs at the Term; and the Concurrence of the House of Commons to be desired herein.
Ordinance for Minister at Gloucester.
An Ordinance was presented to this House, for placing Ministers at Glo'ster; which was read, and Agreed to, and Ordered to be sent to the House of Commons, for their Concurrence.
Brograve to pay the Assessment to the Shipwrights Company.
Upon reading the Petition of the Master and Wardens of the Corporation of Shipwrights; complaining, "That Mr. Brograve refuses to pay the Assessment, though he was Ordered by this House."
It is Ordered, That he pay the said Assessment, according to the Certificate, within a Week from the Day of serving of him with this Order; or else to return his Answer speedily to this House, that so this House may give further Directions.
Colonel Rooksby's Petition, for Leave to enlist Prisoners to serve in France.
Upon reading the Petition of Colonel Rooksby; desiring, "he may have Leave to draw forth and transport, out of the several Prisons in London and the adjacent Counties, such Prisoners as are acquitted by Law from Death, and are or shall be willing to list themselves under his Command, to serve in France."
It is Ordered, That this Petition be sent to the House of Commons.
E. of North'ton to compound for his Delinquency.
A Petition of the Earl of North'ton was read; desiring, he may have Liberty to come to Gouldsmith Hall, to compound for his Estate."
This House agreed to it; providing he take the Covenant.
Message to the H. C. about it.
And his Petition was presently sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Edw. Leech and Doctor Aylett; and to let them know, that this House thinks it fit to admit his Lordship to compound for his Estate, he first taking the Covenant, as he is willing to do.
Colonel Lilburn's Ordinance.
The Ordinance concerning Lieutenant Colonel Lylborne was read the Third Time, and passed; and Ordered to be sent to the House of Commons, for their Concurrence therein.
Dr. Bastwick's Ordinance.
The Lord Robertes reports the Ordinance concerning Doctor Bastwick fit to pass, with a small Alteration.
And the said Ordinance was read the Third Time, with the said Alteration; and Agreed to, and Ordered to be sent down to the House of Commons.
Ordinance for selling Delinquents Estates.
Ordered, That the Ordinance for selling Delinquents Estates shall be taken into Consideration on Monday Morning next; and then to consider that the said Lands may be sold, for the repairing such Persons as have lost their Estates for adhering to the Parliament.
Ordinance for Mr. Hall to be Minister of Beverston.
The Ordinance for making Mr. Hall Minister of Beverston, in Glo'stershire, was read the Second Time.
Tindall to be instituted to Bearferris.
Ordered, That Sir Nath. Brent do give Institution and Induction to John Tindall, to the Rectory of Beareferris, in the County of Devon.
Mathews's Petition.
Upon reading the Petition of Christopher Mathewes, late Serjeant Major to the Earl of Essex' Regiment: It is Ordered, To be recommended to the House of Commons.
Cable and Cross.
Ordered, That the Cause of Barthol. Cable shall be heard, at this Bar, this Day Fortnight, against John Crosse; and Mr. Pryn is hereby assigned to be of Counsel for him.
Barker to be freed from an Arrest.
Upon reading the Petition of Wm. Barker, a Servant to the Parliament, "That he, having been employed in Service of the Parliament, is arrested maliciously by one Edward Hunt and Stephen Wile."
It is Ordered, That, upon Affidavit made of the Truth of the Matter of Fact, he shall have the Protection of this House, for the freeing his Person from Arrests, whereby he may have Liberty to attend the Service of the Kingdom.
Letter sent to Sir T. Fairfax, to forward to the Prince.
Ordered, That the Speaker of this House do write a Letter to Sir Thomas Fairefax, to know of him whether he received the Letter to be sent to the Prince from the Houses of Parliament, and when he sent it to the Prince.
Oxford and Banbury Petition, to be indemnified for their Losses.
Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of the City of Oxon, Borough of Banbury, &c. "who have received great Losses sustained for adhering to the Parliament, and desired to be recompensed out of the Earl of North'ton's Estate, or other Delinquents."
It is Ordered, To be recommended to the House of Commons.

The Order for paying Fifty Pounds, to Mr. Le Frand, was read, and passed. (Here enter it.)
Committees for Oxford.
Ordered, That Sir Tho. Reade of Dunstew Knight, Wm. Wheate and John Lenthall Esquires, Wm. Draper, and Thomas Appletree, and Robert Barber, Gentlemen, be added to the Committees for the County of Oxon; and the Concurrence of the House of Commons to be desired herein.
