Message from the H. C. with Ordinances.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Wheeler and others;

To desire Concurrence:

1. An Ordinance that Ten Thousand Pounds, out of the Excise, shall be raised, for the Service of the West.

2. Order, That Five Hundred Pounds, out of the Excise, shall be raised, for the Service of the County of Wigorn. (Here enter it.)

Spring Gardens and Hyde Park to be kept shut on Sundays, Fast-days, &c.

Ordered, That both The Spring Gardens and Hide Parke shall be kept shut, and no Person or Persons whatsoever shall be permitted to go into any of those Places, upon the Lords-day, or upon any Fast-days, or Thanksgiving-days; and hereof those that have the Keeping of the said Places are to take Notice, and see this Order obeyed, as they will answer the contrary at their uttermost Perils; and that this be presently published by the Keepers thereof.

Ordinance for the Commissioners of Excise to re-pay themselves 500 l. advanced for Worcestershire.

"Whereas John Towse Esquire, Alderman of the City of London, and the rest of the Commissioners of Excise, have advanced and lent the Sum of Five Hundred Pounds, for the Service of the Forces in the County of Worcester: Be it Ordained, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the said Commissioners of Excise, their Executors and Administrators, shall and may satisfy and reimburse themselves the said Five Hundred Pounds, together with Interest for the same after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Cent. for so long Time as the same, or any Part, shall be forborn, out of such Intervals of Receipts to come in upon the Office of Excise as shall happen when other Payments already assigned shall not fall due, or, for Want of such Intervals, then as the same shall follow in Course; and shall not, by any other Order or Ordinance of One or both Houses of Parliament, be secluded from satisfying themselves accordingly; and the Receipt of Major Richard Salloway shall be a sufficient Discharge to the said Commissioners of Excise, and every of them, for the said Five Hundred Pounds, in that Behalf."

Ordinance for Mess. Ash and Wright, and the Commissioners of Excise, to reimburse themselves 10,000 l. advanced for the Service of the West.

Whereas the Fellowship of Merchants Adventurers of England were, by Ordinance of the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, bearing Date the 23th of December last past, to receive Ten Thousand Pounds, with Interest after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Cent. out of the Receipts of the Excise, upon the Sixth Day of July next coming after the Date hereof, in case all other Payments formerly assigned be upon that Day first (fn. 1) satisfied; and, if not, then as the same shall follow in due Course, with like Interest, until the whole be satisfied; which Ten Thousand Pounds the said Fellowship hath agreed and consented to forbear for Nine Months longer, as by an Ordinance of the 26th present more at large appeareth: And whereas, for and towards the Advance of the like Sum of Ten Thousand Pounds, John Towse Esquire, and Alderman of the City of London, and the rest of the Commissioners of Excise and new Impost, have advanced and lent the Sum of Four Thousand Pounds, for the Service of the West; and likewise Edward Ash Esquire, a Member of the House of Commons, hath advanced other Four Thousand Pounds; and Nathan Wright, of London, Merchant, hath advanced Two Thousand Pounds, the Residue of the said Ten Thousand Pounds, for the Service aforesaid; be it therefore Ordained, by the said Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the said Commissioners of Excise shall and may satisfy and reimburse unto themselves, the said Edward Ash, and Mr. Nathan Wright, the several Sums of Four Thousand Pounds, Four Thousand Pounds, and Two Thousand Pounds, before mentioned, respectively, with Interest after the Rate of Eight per Cent. upon the said 6th Day of July, next out of the Receipts of the Excise, or otherwise out of the First Receipts coming in after the Sixth Day of July next, with like Interest, for so long Time as they, or any of them, shall be out or unsatisfied of the several and respective Sums, or any Part thereof, in the Place and Stead of the said Fellowship of Merchants Adventurers of England, who were then to receive the same; and this present Ordinance, and the several and respective Receipt or Receipts of the said Edward Ash and Nathan Wright, for the several and respective Sums aforementioned, shall be a sufficient Discharge unto the said Commissioners of Excise, and every of them; the same to be paid unto Michaell Herring Merchant, whose Receipt shall be a sufficient Discharge unto the respective Parties that shall pay the same, to be disposed in such Manner, and such Uses, as (fn. 2) by the Committee of Lords and Commons for the Safety of the Western associated Counties, or any Five of them, shall be directed and appointed."
