Cabbell et al. v. Brock.
Counsel (according to Order) were called in to be heard in the Cause wherein William Burridge Cabbell, and others, are Appellants, and James Brock is Respondent:
And the Appellants Counsel being fully heard;
The Counsel were directed to withdraw.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure.
The House was resumed.
Then Counsel were again called in to be further heard in the said Cause:
And the Respondent's Counsel being in part heard;
The Counsel were directed to withdraw.
Ordered, That the further Hearing of the said Cause be put off 'till To-morrow.
D. of Somerset takes the Oaths.
This Day Edward Adolphus Duke of Somerset took the Oaths, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.
Bp. Cork's Bill:
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to repeal, in Part, an Act passed in the Parliament of Ireland in the Thirty-second Year of the Reign of King George the Third, relating to a Portion of the Lands of Ballinaspeg, near the City of Cork, belonging to the See of Cork; and to enable the Bishops of that See to demise the same, under certain Restrictions."
The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"
It was resolved in the Affirmative.
Message to H.C. with it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Trower and Mr. Roupell;
To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereto.
St. Albans Road Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for more effectually improving the Road from the Pondyards, in the County of Hertford, to the Town of Chipping Barnet, in the same County."
Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to the Consideration of the Lords following:
Their Lordships, or any Five of them, to meet on Wednesday next, at Ten o'Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings, near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Bankruptcy Court Bill.
It was moved, "That the Order made on Tuesday the 23d of August last, "That the Bill, intituled, "An Act to establish a Court in Bankruptcy," be re-committed to a Committee of the Whole House on Tuesday the 13th of September next; and that the Lords be summoned," be now read."
The same was accordingly read by the Clerk.
Ordered, That the said Order be discharged.

M. of Bute's Estate Bill, Ld. Stuart de Rothesay sworn to give Evidence on.
The Lord Stuart de Rothesay was sworn, at the Table, by The Lord Chancellor, in order to give Evidence before the Committee to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for effectuating a Partition of Estates belonging to The Most Honorable John Crichton Stuart Marquess of Bute and Earl of Dumfries and The Most Honorable Maria Marchioness of Bute and Countess of Dumfries, and their Trustees, and to The Right Honorable Lady Susan North, and to The Right Honorable Lady Georgina North; and for other Purposes," stands committed.
Calder v. Aitchison & Co.
Ordered, That the Hearing of the Cause wherein John Calder is Appellant, and George Aitchison and Company are Respondents, which stands appointed for this Day, be put off 'till To-morrow.
Scott v. Allnutt & Mackenzie.

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to amend an Act of the Fifty-second Year of the Reign of His Majesty King George the Third, respecting the Audit of the Public Accounts of Ireland; and to appoint the Number of Commissioners competent to grant Quietus to Public Accountants under an Act passed in the Fifty-sixth Year of the Reign of His Majesty King George the Third, for consolidating the Public Revenues of Great Britain and Ireland;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
