This Day Christopher Lord Bishop of Bangor took the Oaths, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Hamilton to enter into a Recog ce on Mahon's Appeal.

Upon reading the Petition of the Roman Catholic Inhabitants of the Parish of Kilgeevir, Ireland, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships to withhold the Grants for the Purposes of the Education of the Poor in Ireland from the "Society for the Promotion of the Education of the Poor of Ireland;" and that some other System may be devised to render the said Grants available to the Petitioners, who, in addition to the Support of their own Clergy and Schools, have Tithes, Church Rates, Grand Jury and Vestry Cesses, and all those other Taxes to pay which periodically reduce the People of Ireland to the lowest State of Misery:"

Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of Knutsford and its Vicinity, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships "that speedy and decisive Measures may be taken towards the Accomplishment of the utter Extinction of Slavery; and that their Lordships will enact a Law that the Children of Slaves born after the 1st of January 1832 shall be free; and that such Laws be repealed as give a Bounty upon Slavery, by imposing a less Duty on the Produce of the Slave Colonies of Mauritius and the West Indies than on that of other Parts of His Majesty's Foreign Dominions; and that such Means may be used as their Lordships shall deem advisable, in order to secure the same important and righteous End:"

West India Property, Petition from Glasgow for Protection of.

Upon reading the Petition of the Planters, Merchants and others, of the City of Glasgow, connected with the West India Colonies, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships, "That, as their Property in the West India Colonies is held by the same Tenure and on the same Security as any other Property in the British Dominions - the solemn Sanction of Law - so they are clearly entitled to the same Protection, and upon every Principle of Law as well as of Justice no Infringement on their Property may be countenanced, under any Plea or Pretext whatever, without ample Compensation being guaranteed by the Nation at large:"
