Ordinance for a Weekly Assessment.
Next, an Ordinance of Parliament, brought up formerly from the House of Commons, for the Weekly Assessment upon the Counties for Two Months longer, was read.
Ordered, To be committed to the same Committee as is appointed for the additional Instructions for Sequestrations; and the Committee to meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock; and the Committee to consider of the Abuses in the managing of the Assessments.
Committee to take an Accompt of all Monies received and expended.
Ordered, That a Committee be appointed, to meet with a proportionable Number of the House of Commons, to take an Accompt of all Monies that have been received and expended by virtue of any Ordinance of Parliament; and to report the same to the Houses.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Serjeant Whitfeild and Mr. Serjeant Fynch:
To let them know, that their Lordships have appointed a Committee of Nine Lords, to take an Accompt of all Monies that have been received by virtue of any Ordinance of Parliament; and to desire the House of Commons would nominate a proportionable Number of their House, to join with them in it.
Message from thence, for a Conference on Ordinances, &c.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Rob't Pye:
To desire a Conference, concerning the Ordinance for the Weekly Assessments, the Ordinance concerning the additional Instructions for Sequestrations, and concerning the Order touching Dr. Juxon.
The Answer returned was:
That their Lordships will give a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, as is desired.
Message to them, that the Lords will release the Earl, of Bath, that he may go to The Spa.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Rob't Rich and Mr. Page:
To let them know, that the Earl of Bath, having contracted a great Indisposition of Health by his Ten Months Imprisonment, hath often, by his Petitions, desired Leave to go to the Waters of The Spaw, in Hope to get a Recovery of his Health: Their Lordships have made known the Earl of Bath's Desires to that House, but have received no Answer as yet; and the Time of the Year now elapsing so fast, as that the Season for drinking of those Waters is likely to be lost, they are Resolved to give him Liberty to go to The Spaw; with this Caution, That, at his Return, he shall render himself unto the House of Peers, to answer any Thing that shall be objected against him: And further to let the House of Commons know, that this House will sit again at Three a Clock, and to desire that the Conference may be deferred until then.

Ordered, That the Earl of Northumb. hath Leave to go into Sussex, to his House there, for his Health.
Bp. of London, Dr. Turner, and Mr. Juxon, to pay Money received for the Impropriations of Presteyne and Aylesbury.
"Whereas, by a Decree heretofore had in the Exchequer Chamber, against John White Esquire, and others, late Feoffees of Impropriations, the Rectory Impropriate of Presteyne, in the County of Hereford and Radnor, and a Lease for Lives of the Prebend, Rectory, and Parsonage, of Aylesbury, in the County of Buckingham, purchased for the Maintenance of Preaching Ministers, were Decreed to be conveyed by them, amongst other Things purchased by them, unto the King's Majesty, which was accordingly done; and William Bishop of London, Thomas Turner Doctor in Divinity, and John Juxon Esquire, have since, by some Lease made unto some of them under the Great Seal of England, and other Authority from the Lords and others Commissioners for the Treasury, received divers Sums of Money of the Rents thereof; videlicet, the Bishop hath received One Thousand One Hundred Ninety-five Pounds, Two Shillings, as appears by an Accompt made by him, and remaining in the Exchequer; and the said Dr. Turner and Mr. Juxon have received Seven Hundred Ninety Pounds, Five Shillings, and Four Pence, whereof Five Hundred Thirty Pounds, Five Shillings, and Four Pence, remains in their Hands undisposed, which, with the Remain in the said Bishop's Hands, amounts in the Whole unto One Thousand Seven Hundred Twentyfive Pounds, Seven Shillings, and Four Pence, being by His Majesty's Privy Seal appointed to be employed for the purchasing of Lands, for the better Endowment of the Churches of St. Antholynes in the City of London, and of Bridge-North and Clarely in the County of Salopp, and of Chipping-Wiccombe in the County of Buckingham: Now, in regard that the said Decree is, upon Consideration thereof by the Lords and Commons, found unjust, and destructive to our Religion, and the said pious Uses and good Endeavours of the said Feoffees to advance the same are thereby crushed, and all Men discouraged from the like pious Uses, Gifts, and Undertakings; it is, for the Prevention of the said Mischiefs, intended, That the said Decree shall be reversed by Act of Parliament; and the said Rectories and Things conveyed, as aforesaid, by the Enforcement of the said Decree, and all the said Rents thereof, be restored to the said Feoffees, and such others as the said Lords and Commons shall think fit, to be employed to the Uses originally intended by the Donors: And for that, by reason of the present Distractions of the Kingdom, the said intended Reversal cannot be perfected, it is, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, Ordered and Ordained, That the said One Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-five Pounds, Seven Shillings, and Four Pence, be forthwith paid and delivered by the said Bishop, Dr. Turner, and Mr. Juxon, unto the said John White and Samuell Browne, and other the surviving Feoffees; and the said Bishop of London, Dr. Turner, and Mr. Juxon, shall, upon Payment of the said Money accordingly, be hereby discharged thereof; and they, their Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, saved harmless, of and from all Demands concerning the same, by the Power and Authority of Parliament; and that the said Feoffees shall receive all Rents of the Premises in the Tenants Hands, and which shall hereafter grow due and payable, to the pious Uses for which they were intrusted by the Donors."
Order for 200 l. to Sir T. Wharton, Lieut. Colonel of the Marquis of Ormond's Regiment.
"It is this Day Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in this present Parliament assembled, That the Receivers of the Adventurers-money, upon the Act of Subscriptions for Lands in Ireland, do forthwith pay unto Nicholas Loftus Esquire, Deputy Treasurer at Wars for Ireland, the Sum of Two Hundred Pounds, to be by him paid over unto Sir Thomas Wharton Knight of the Bath, in Part of what is due unto him for his Pay, as Lieutenant Colonel of the Regiment commanded by the Lord Marquis Ormond, and Captain of a Foot Company, and to be defalked upon the Accompt of that Regiment and Company."
Order for 250 l. to Francis Rogers, Lieutenant in Sir Charles Greenvile's Regiment.
"Upon reading the Petition of Mr. Francis Rogers, Lieutenant of the Troop of Horse commanded by Sir Richard Greenvill, in the Province of Lemster in Ireland, and the Certificate of the Auditors, whereby it appeareth that there is due, and (fn. 1) in Arrear unto him, for the Pay of himself and Four Horses in that Service, to the 24th of April last, at the Rate of Sixteen Shillings per Diem more than he hath already received, the Sum of Three Hundred and One Pounds, Eight Shillings: It is therefore Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That, in regard of the great good Service done by the said Mr. Rogers in Ireland, and his Readiness to return to his Charge in that Kingdom, that the Sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Pounds be forthwith paid unto the said Mr. Rogers, out of the Adventurers-money, upon Subscriptions for Lands in Ireland, in Part of the said Arrears due; and that the Treasurer at Wars do receive the same, and pay it over unto the said Mr. Rogers, in such Sort as Defalcation may be made thereof upon his Accompt, and the Accompt of the Troop of Sir Richard Greenvill aforesaid."
