Sir James Cunningham's Petition concerning the Greenland Fishery.
The Petition of Sir James Cunningham, was read; wherein he shewed, that the King's Majesty having granted unto him, under the Great Seal of Scotland (amongst other Things), the Fishing of Whale at Greeneland, for which he had prepared and victualed many Ships, His Majesty was afterwards pleased, at the Suit of the Muscovia Company in England, to call in the said Grant, touching the said Fishing, because it was pretended to be prejudicial to the State of that Trade; nevertheless His Majesty appointed divers Lords of His Honourable Privy Council here in England, to accommodate the Differences between the Petitioner and the said Company; and that now the said Company refused to pay him such Sums of Money, which their Lordships did think fit, and set down to be paid unto him, for his Losses in the Provisions made for that Voyage, and which Losses were referred, by Consent of Sir Thomas Smith, Knight, Governor of that Company, unto Sir Robert Napper, Knight and Baronet, Sir Allen Appesley, Knight, Lieutenant of The Tower, and Sir Marmaduke Dorrell, Knight, Cofferer of His Majesty's Household; and by them certified to their Lordships.
Which Petition being read, the Court referred the Consideration thereof unto the Earl of Warwick, the Lord Bishop of Winchester, the Lord Scroope, and the Lord Darce. And their Lordships are to meet Tomorrow, at One of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Painted Chamber, to consider thereof; and to call before them the said Sir Thomas Smith, or some other of the said Muscovia Company.

The Lord Archbishop of Cant. (the first of the Committees appointed by the House to take Examinations in causa Edmundi Floud) reported, That the Committees have taken divers Examinations in that Cause, and were satisfied for the Proof of the Crimes objected against him; and moved the House, that Mr. Attorney General may read the said Examinations.
Mr. Attorney read these Examinations taken in that Cause: videlicet,
1. The Examination of Lettice Harris.
2. The Examination of John Broughton.
3. The Examination of Edward Eldred.
4. The Examination of Henry Pennington.
5. The Examination of George Hurdman.
6. The Examination of Abdias Cole.
The which Examinations being read, it was Ordered, That the said Edward Floud be brought To-morrow Morning to the Bar, to be censured; and the Lords to be here then in their Robes.
And that the Witnesses be here also; and that the Warden of The Fleet be commanded to attend here at that Time; for that the House conceives him to be in great Fault, for concealing the scandalous Words spoken by the said Floud.
Writ of Error from Ireland.
The Lord Chief Justice (removing to his Place of Assistance) and Mr. Baron Bromley, Mr. Justice Haughton, Mr. Justice Hutton, and Mr. Justice Chamb'laine, reported, That, according to the Order of the House Yesterday, they had considered of the Scire facias to be awarded in the Cause of Nicholas Stafford; and they find that a Writ is to be directed, by Warrant from this House (in the said Cause of Nicholas Staff.), unto the Chief Justice of the King's Bench in Ireland, requiring him, by Writ out of that Court, to command the Sheriff of the County of Wexford (where the Land in Question lieth) to give Notice unto the Party Defendant to make his Appearance here in Parliament, at a certain Time appointed, to hear Errors.
Which was Ordered to be done accordingly; but the Plaintiff is to assign Errors before the Writ be awarded.
Raleigh's Restitution in Blood.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Restitution in Blood of Carew Raleigh, &c. And it was put to the Question, Whether this Bill shall be first committed, or ingrossed without Commitment. Agreed per plures, not to be committed; and so Ordered to be ingrossed.
Manor of Little Munden to Woodhall.

Lumley.
The Earl of Rutland, one of the Committees of the Bill, intituled, An Act to enable Sir Richard Lumley, Knight, to sell divers Manors and Lands, for Payment of his Debts, and Preferment of his Younger Children, reported the same Bill fit to receive a Third Reading.
Supersedeas and Certiorari.
The Lord Archbishop of Cant. reported, That the Committee on the Bill of Supersedeas and Certiorari met Yesterday with the Committee of the Commons; and it was then Agreed by them, That a Sub-committee of both Houses shall meet at Four this Afternoon.
The Names of the Sub-committee for that Bill (agreed on Yesterday) were read, and the Lord Spencer added thereunto.
Monopolies.
The Bill against Monopolies is appointed to be read First To-morrow Morning.
Ordnance.
The Committees on the Bill against Transportation of Iron Ordnance are to meet on the 29th of this May.
