PRAYERS.

Weavers Petition for the Bill to prevent the Running of Goods:

Upon reading the Petition of the Bailiffs, Wardens, Assistants, and Commonalty, of the Trade, Art, and Mistery of Weavers, London; praying, "That the Bill to prevent the clandestine Running of Goods may pass this House this Session:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of the whole House to whom the said Bill stands committed.

Clockmakers for a Clause in the Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of the Master and Wardens of the Company of Clockmakers, London; praying, "That they may be heard, by themselves or Counsel, what Reasons they have to offer, in Maintenance of a Clause in the Bill to prevent the clandestine Running of Goods, which relates to the Exportation of Clocks and Watches:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of the whole House to whom the said Bill stands committed; and that the Petitioners may be heard, before the said Committee, in Maintenance of the said Clause, if they think fit.

Robbery, &c. to prevent, Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the further preventing Robbery, Burglary, and other Felonies; and the more effectual Transportation of Felons and unlawful Exporters of Wool."

Then it was proposed, "That in the 2d Line of the Clause marked (B.) which relates to Deer-stealers, after the Word ["Persons"], these Words, videlicet, ["qualified to keep a Dog or Gun"], be there inserted."

And the same was agreed to.

And it was also agreed to insert, in the 3d Line of the said Clause, after the Word ["mentioned"], these Words; videlicet, ["or any Person or Persons."]

And then, the Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with Amendments to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Rogers and Mr. Holford:

To carry down the said Bill; and acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the same, with several Amendments, whereunto their Lordships desire their Concurrence.

Running of Goods, to prevent, Bill.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee on the Bill, intituled, "An Act against the clandestine Running of uncustomed and prohibited Goods; and for the more effectual preventing of Frauds relating to the Customs and Excise."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Clarendon reported from the said Committee, "That they had made some Progress in the Bill; and directed him to move, that they may have Leave to sit again."

Ordered, That this House be, on Saturday next, put into a Committee again, to consider further of the said Bill.

Ships stranded, Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enforcing and making perpetual an Act of the Twelfth Year of Her late Majesty, intituled, An Act for the preserving of all such Ships, and Goods thereof, which shall happen to be forced on Shore, or stranded, upon the Coasts of this Kingdom, or any other of Her Majesty's Dominions."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to naturalize Martin Ludolph, Ulrick Jansen, and John Ludolph Spellerberg," was committed: "That they had gone through the said Bill, and made some Amendments thereunto."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.
