Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for amending the Roads from the City of London to the Town of East Grinstead, in the County of Sussex, and to the Towns of Sutton and Kingston, in the County of Surrey."

Maidenhead Highway Bill.

Whereas this Day was appointed, for the House to be put into a Committee of the whole House upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Highways from Maidenhead Bridge to Sunning Lane-end, (next to Twiford) in the Road to Reading, and from the said Bridge to Henley Bridge, in the County of Berks:"

The House being moved, "In regard Bills of this Nature have heretofore been usually referred to Select Committees, that a Select Committee may accordingly be appointed, to consider thereof:"

Reading Highway Bill.

Ordered, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Highways from Crown Corner in the Town of Reading (leading by and through the several Parishes of Shinfield and Heckfield, in the several Counties of Berks, Wilts, and Southampton) to Basingstoke, in the said County of Southampton," which was committed to a Committee of the whole House this Day, be committed to the Lords Committees aforenamed: To meet on the same Day, and at the same Place.

Napier's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for confirming an Agreement between Dame Elizabeth Napier, Sir Theophilus Napier Baronet, Archibald Napier, and Edward Napier, the Relict and Sons of Sir John Napier deceased, touching his Real and Personal Estate, for vesting his Lands and Hereditaments in the Counties of Bedford and Hertford in Trustees, for the better Performance of the said Agreement."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to Lords Committees aforenamed.

Then it being moved, "In regard of the approaching Conclusion of this Session of Parliament, that the Standing Order of this House, which requires Fourteen Days Notice to be given of the Meeting of Committees on Private Bills, may be so far dispensed with, as that the said Committee may have Leave to sit on Monday next:"

And the Standing Order of this House, which directs that no Motion for dispensing with a Standing Order shall be granted the same Day made," being read:

It is Ordered, That this House will take the said Motion into Consideration on Monday next; and the Lords to be summoned

Newcastle Hospital Bill.

The Order of the Day, for resuming the adjourned Debate, which arose on Tuesday last, after the Third Reading of the Bill concerning the Hospital of The Holy Jesus, in Newcastle upon Tyne, being read:

The House was informed, "That a Person attended, with a Paper in relation to the Matter in Question."

He was called in; and delivered, at the Bar, as a true Copy, upon Oath, a Paper, intituled, "A Clause in the Charter granted to the Town of Newcastle upon Tyne, 31st of Queen Elizabeth, to enable the Corporation to purchase."

And then he withdrew.

Ordered, That the said adjourned Debate be further adjourned till Monday next.

Mutiny, &c. Bill.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for punishing Mutiny and Desertion; and for the better Payment of the Army and their Quarters."

And, after a long Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Clarendon reported from the said Committee; "That they had gone through the Bill; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Third Time on Monday next; and the Lords to be summoned.

Address for Articles of War, for 1718.

Ordered, That an humble Address be presented to His Majesty, "That He will be pleased to give Order, that the Draught of the Articles of War intended to be established, for the Service of the Year 1718, be laid before this House."

Ordered, That the said Address be presented to His Majesty by the Lords with White Staves.

The several remaining Orders of the Day being read:

Tunbridge Road Bill.

Ordered, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Highways leading from The Stones-end of Kent-street, in the Parish of St. George's Southwark, in the County of Surrey, to The Lime Kilns in East Greenwich, near Blackheath, and to Lewisham Church, being the Tunbridge Road, in the County of Kent," which was committed to a Committee of the whole House, this Day, be referred to the Select Committee afore-named: To meet on the same Day, and at the same Place.

Robbery, to prevent, Bill.

Ordered, That this House be put into a Committee of the whole House on the Bill in relation to the preventing Robberies and Burglaries, on Tuesday next.

Bone Lace Bill.

Ordered also, That this House be put into a Committee of the whole House, on the Bill concerning the whole Traders in Bone Lace, on Wednesday next.
