HODIE 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Assurance of certain Lands and Rent to the Bishop of Duresme, and his Successors, and of certain other Lands to the Earl of Salisbury and his Heirs.

To disunite the Parsonages of Ashe and Deane.

This Day the Amendments upon a Bill, intituled, An Act for the disuniting of the Parsonages of Asbe and Deane, within the County of South'ton, being presentative, and with Cure of Souls, were Twice read, and allowed; and thereupon the said Bill and Amendments appointed to be ingrossed; after that, by Commandment of the House, these Words ["as Part, Parcel, or reputed as Part, Parcel, or Member thereof"] were, by the Clerk, in open Court, added in the last Amendment, or Clause, added by the Committees.

Confirmation of Fines levied by Arundel of Guarnack, to Arundel of Trerise.

Report of the Lords who attended the King with the Purport of the Message from the House of Commons.

The King's Answer.

The Lord Treasurer briefly declared, That the Lords Committees, whom this House on Tuesday last employed to His Majesty, have, according to their Directions, attended His Highness, and acquainted Him first with the Message, which on Monday before the Lords received from the Lower House, concerning a free Conference; and the Desire of the Commons, that the Committees of this House should come prepared in Three Points to give Satisfaction to their Committees, which his Lordship particularly remembered; and also with the Answer which this House returned to the Commons, depending upon the King's Pleasure first to be understood in some Points by them proposed, before any certain Time of Meeting could be appointed, or any further Answer sent them. Then his Lordship declared His Majesty's Gracious Approbation of their Lordships Proceedings, with His Highness's Answer; videlicet, "That this Matter came unto Him on a sudden; that presently He cannot pitch a Price of so great a Matter, especially the same being so unknown; but that His Majesty will take some convenient Time to think thereon, which, He was pleased to say, shall be before Tuesday Noon." Lastly, that His Majesty gave Authority to this House, to let the Commons understand that, on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon, their Lordships, by their Committees, will give Meeting, and have Conference with their Committees, as themselves have desired.

Accordingly a Message was sent to the said House of Commons, by Mr. Justice Crooke, Mr. Dr. Amy, and Mr. Grymston:

Message to the House of Commons for a free Conference.

That whereas the House of Commons, on Monday last, moved for a free Conference to be had with certain Committees of this House, who they likewise desired might come prepared to give their Committees Satisfaction in Three Points, by themselves proposed, and such Conference to be at any Time after Wednesday then next following; that their Lordships do purpose accordingly to give them Meeting and free Conference (as themselves desired) on Tuesday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Painted Chamber, if it may so stand with their Occasions.

Answer, That, by Messengers of their own, they will send Answer; and accordingly was

Answer.

Answer sent, by Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer and others: That the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses of the Commons House, having understood from this House, that, according to their Motion made on Monday last, the Lords are pleased, by their Committees, to have a free Conference, and to treat touching the Three Points by that House proposed; and, for that Purpose, to meet on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Painted Chamber; that House doth willingly accept and agree to the same Time and Place.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Explanation of a Proviso, or Branch of a Statute, contained in an Act of Parliament, made in the Years of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France, and Ireland the Fourth, and of Scotlande the Fortieth, intituled, An Act for the Establishing and Assurance of divers of the Possessions of Ferdinando late Earl of Derby; and forthwith sent down to the Lower House, together with the Bill for Assurance of certain Lands and Rent to the Bishop of Duresme and his Successors, and of certain other Lands to Robert Earl of Salisbury and his Heirs; videlicet, sent down by Mr. Dr. Amy and Mr. Grymst'.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act to prevent the Spoil of Corn and Grain, by untimely Hawking; and for the better Preservation of Pheasants and Partridges.

Lord Chancellor admonishes the Lords (who have not done it) to take the Oath of Allegiance.

The Lord Chancellor wished, and moved the Lords, That such as have not already taken the Oath of Allegiance would, on Saturday next, at the next Sitting of the House, take the same.

Lord Lisle's Privilege. Violet arrested.

Upon Information given to this High Court of Parliament, That, Servant in ordinary to the Lord Viscount Lisle, hath been of late arrested, by Standish, Under Sheriff of Midd. at the Suit (fn. 1) and Procurement of, contrary to the Honour and Privilege of the said Court; it is Ordered by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, That as well the said Standish as the said shall be brought into this Court, by the Serjeant at Arms, etc. upon Saturday next, by Nine of the Clock in the Morning, to answer, etc.

Adjourn.
