After reading, and considering, the Report of Mr. Justice Gould and Mr. Baron Bury, to whom was referred the Petition of the Right Honourable Thomas Lord Viscount Windsor, in the Kingdom of Ireland, and others; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Purposes in the Petition mentioned:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners have hereby Leave to bring in a Bill, according to the Prayer of the Petition.

Foreign Protestants Nat. Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Foreign Protestants."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Tuesday next, at One a Clock; and all the Lords summoned.

L. Mayor and Aldermen, London, versus Foreign Protestants Nat. Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Common Council, of the City of London; shewing, "That they are entitled to certain ancient Duties, for the Package, Scavage, Portage, and Balliage, of the Goods of all Merchants Strangers brought into, or carried out of, the Port of London; and that these Duties have been confirmed by Acts of Parliament and divers Royal Charters; that the Revenue on the said Duties are considerable, and leased out for Years; and that there is a Bill now depending in this House, for naturalizing Foreign Protestants; which Bill, if passed, will be prejudicial to the Petitioners, unless Care be taken therein to preserve their Rights to the said Duties; and praying to be heard, by their Counsel, before the said Bill do pass:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners shall be heard, by their Counsel, according to the Prayer of the Petition, on Tuesday next, at One a Clock.

Minshall, Leave for a Bill.

After reading, and considering, the Report of the Lord Chief Justice of Her Majesty's Court of Common Pleas and the Lord Chief Baron of Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer, to whom was referred the Petition of Rich'd Minshall Esquire; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Purposes in the Petition mentioned:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner hath hereby Leave given to bring in a Bill, according to the Prayer of the said Petition, and the Judges Report read this Day.

Bill for improving the Union.

Manchester Church Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for building a Church, or Chapel, in the Town of Manchester, in the County of Lancaster."

Bill for Sale of Lands, to pay Debts, &c. of late Lord Jeffries.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Barony of Wem, and Manors of Wem and Loppington, and several Lands and Tenements in the County of Salop, and the Manors of Dolby and Broughton, and Lands thereto belonging, in the County of Leicester, and the Manor of Fulmer, and several Lands and Tenements in the County of Bucks, late the Estate of George late Lord Jeffreys, deceased, in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of Debts and Portions, and other Purposes therein mentioned."

Baggott's Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Reversal of the Outlawry of Elianor Bagot, the Wife of John Bagott."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet To-morrow, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Stopford's Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable James Stopford Esquire to sell Lands, in the County of Nottingham, for Payment of Debts and Portions."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be referred to the same Committee to whom Mrs. Bagott's Bill stands committed.

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Saturday the Twenty-sixth Instant, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Lloyd versus Wynne.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Symon Lloyd, Defendant in the Cause in Chancery, wherein the now Respondent William Wynne and Marg't his Wife, Executrix of Meredith Lloyd, were Plaintiffs, against the Appellant then Defendant, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Four and Twentieth Day of January in the Sixth Year of Her now Majesty's Reign; praying the Reversal of the said Decree, and the Bill dismissed:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said William Wynne and Margaret his Wife may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Friday the Five and Twentieth Day of this Instant March, at Eleven a Clock.

Muirheid versus Muirheid.

Upon reading the Petition of James Muirheid, Respondent to the Appeal of Rose Muirheid; praying, "That Monday next may be appointed for hearing this Cause, in regard his Counsel are retained, and that on Tuesday next they are obliged to go the Circuit:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Monday next, at Eleven a Clock.

Bulkeley's Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Thomas Bulkeley Gentleman to sell Part of the Estate comprized in his Marriage Settlement, to pay off Debts, which were precedent to, and do affect, the said Settlement."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be referred to the same Committee to whom Mrs. Bagot's Bill stands committed.

Frere versus Boteler.

Upon reading the Petition of Susanna Frere; praying a Day may be appointed for hearing her Cause depending in this House, to which Mirable Boteler is Respondent; and that she may be admitted in Forma Pauperis, and Mr. Phipps and Mr. Morgan be assigned Counsel for her:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, on Friday the Eighteenth Instant, at Eleven a Clock; and that the Petitioner shall be admitted in Forma Pauperis, and Mr. Phipps and Mr. Morgan assigned Counsel for the Petitioner at the said Hearing.

Papers relating to Scotland.

The Earl of Sunderland, by Her Majesty's Command, pursuant to the Address of this House to Her Majesty, the First Instant, delivered several Papers relating to that Part of (fn. 1) North Britain called Scotland.

The Titles whereof were read, and are as follow; videlicet,)

"1. Abstract of the Musters of Her Majesty's Forces in North Britain.

"From Commissary Crafurd."

"2. An Account of what Forces are now in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland.

"From the Secretary of War."

"3. A Remain of Ordnance Stores, taken within the Castle of Edinburgh, November 1708.

"And Supply sent thither from Berwick, 15th January, 1708 / 9."

"4. March, 1708 / 9. An Account of the State and Produce of the several Branches of the Revenue in North Britain, since the Union.

"From my Lord Treasurer."

"5. List of the Justices of the Peace in North Britain.

"Received from my Lord Chancellor."

Champernowne versus Hillersden.

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Henry Champernowne, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Twentieth of June in the Fifth Year of Her present Majesty's Reign, on the Behalf of Ursula Hillersden; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree: As also upon the Answer of the said Ursula Hillersden put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed, with Costs.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Henry Champernowne shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further Ordered, That the said Henry Champernowne shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the said Ursula Hillersden, the Sum of Ten Pounds, for her Costs.
