This Day Scroop Earl of Bridgewater and John Lord Poulett took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Ordered, That Letters be writ, by the Lord Keeper, to the absent Lords, to attend the Service of the House.

Vanhoven versus Giesque.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Isaac Vanhoven Merchant, from Decrees, or Decretal Orders, of the Court of Chancery, in a Cause wherein the said Isaac Vanhoven was Plaintiff, against Mathias Giesque Defendant; One, dated the One and Thirtieth Day of October One Thousand Seven Hundred and Four; and the other, the Two and Twentieth Day of June One Thousand Seven Hundred and Five; and praying "the Reversal of the said Decrees, or Orders; and that Mathias Giesque may pay the Petitioner Five Hundred Pounds and Interest, due upon Bond:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Mathias Giesque may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Friday the Three and Twentieth Day of this Instant November, at Eleven a Clock.

Address for Proceedings relative to a Union between England and Scotland, since last Session.

The Earl of Nottingham reported from the Lords Committees, the Address drawn by them.

Which was read, and agreed to, as followeth; (videlicet,)

"Your Majesty having been pleased to communicate to both Houses of Parliament Your gracious Intentions of issuing Commissions for a Treaty of Union between the Two Kingdoms of England and Scotland, pursuant to an Act of Parliament made in England the last Winter, and an Act lately made in Scotland for this Purpose: We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, being very desirous, not only to preserve that happy Union under which we have flourished since the Accession of Your Majesty's Great Grandfather King James to the Throne of this Kingdom; but also to advance our mutual Happiness, by a nearer and more complete Union between the Two Kingdoms; do most humbly beseech Your Majesty to order to be laid before this House what hath passed, since the last Session of Parliament in England, in relation to the Succession of the Crown of Scotland, and to the intended Treaty of Union in the Parliament of that Kingdom, that we may be the better enabled to give Your Majesty such Advice and Assistance, upon this Occasion, as Your Majesty may expect from us, as most conducive to the Honour and Safety of Your Majesty, and the Peace and Happiness of the whole Island of Great Britain."

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords with White Staves do humbly attend Her Majesty, with the said Address.

Wilson & al. versus Townley.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Wilson, Thomas Sheppard, William Clackson, and George Parker, from a Decree made in the Court of Exchequer, the Seventh of July last; wherein that Court hath decreed the Petitioners to pay Two Shillings and Nine Pence in the Pound of their improved Rents for Tithes, whereas they never yet paid above Three Pence; which Decree was made on the Behalf of Thomas Townley Gentleman; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree and Proceedings thereupon:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Townley may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Tuesday the Seven and Twentieth Day of this Instant November, at Eleven a Clock.

State of the Nation, House to be summoned.

The House being moved, "To take into Consideration the State of the Nation:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That all the Lords be summoned to attend this House on Thursday next, at Twelve a Clock, to consider of the State of the Nation.
