PRAYERS.

Rigby's Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Alexander Rigby Knight and Dame Susannah his Wife, and Dame Jane Adams, Sir Charles Lodowick, Cotterel John Dormer Esquire, Sir James Hallet, Doctor Peter Birch, Christopher Billop, and Anthony Forty, Creditors of the said Sir Alexander Rigby; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to vest the Estate of Sir Alexander Rigby in Trustees, to be sold; and applying the Monies raised thereby, for Payment of his Debts, and making some Provision for the said Dame Susannah:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Justice of the Queen's Bench, and Mr. Justice Powell; who are forthwith to summon all Parties that are to be concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Ayloffe et al. to be examined at the Committee, on the Merchants Petition, &c.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir Benjamine Ayloffe, Mr. Josias Wordesworth, Mr. Henry Phill, Mr. Randolph Knipe, Mr. Thomas Stiles, and Mr. Samuel Heathcott, do attend this House, to be sworn, in order to be examined before the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the Merchants Petition, in Behalf of themselves and several others, Traders of the City of London, on Thursday the Nine and Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon.

War in Spain.

The House (pursuant to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee again, to proceed further in Consideration of the State of the Nation, in relation to the War in Spain, and the Papers relating thereto.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Herbert reported, "That the Committee of the whole House had made some further Progress in the Matters to them referred; and desired another Time may be appointed, for the House to be in a Committee, to proceed therein."

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House shall be put into a Committee again, to proceed further in Consideration of the State of the Nation, in relation to the War in Spain, and the Papers relating thereto, on Saturday next, at Eleven a Clock.
