E. Shaftsbury takes the Oaths.
This Day Anthoney Ashley Earl of Shaftesbury took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.
Cole versus Rawlinson, in Error.
The Lord Chief Justice of Her Majesty's Court of Queen's Bench, in the usual Manner, brought in a Writ of Error, wherein Richard Cole is Plaintiff, and Daniel Rawlinson Defendant.
Sheppard et al. versus Smith et al.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of William Sheppard Gentleman, and Thomas Stevens Yeoman, Executors of John Newman deceased, from several Orders and Decrees of the Court of Chancery, of the Fourteenth of October, Fifteenth of January, and Three and Twentieth Day of June last, on the Behalf of John Smith and Stephen Smith, and others; and praying "the Reversal of the said Orders and Decrees; and that the Petitioners may have their Costs:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Smith and Stephen Smith, and other Respondents, may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Friday the Three and Twentieth Day of this Instant November, at Eleven a Clock in the Forenoon.
The House being moved, "That Richard Sheppard and John Sheppard may enter into Recognizance for William Sheppard and Thomas Stevens (they living at a great Distance from London) to answer Costs upon their Appeal:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Richard Sheppard and John Sheppard may enter into Recognizance for the said William Sheppard and Thomas Stevens.
Adjourn.
