The Lord Ferrers reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the settling and vesting divers Manors and Lands of Francis Wightwick, an Infant, lying in the County of Stafford, in Trustees, to enable them to settle and convey the same, upon the Marriage of the said Francis Wightwick, to such Uses, Intents, and Purposes, as shall be agreed upon," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.
Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.
Mrs. Boscawen's Nat. Bill.
The Lord Lawarr also reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to naturalize Charlotte the Wife of Hugh Boscawen Esquire," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

After some Time, the House was resumed.
And the Lord Mohun reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill, with some Amendments."

It being proposed, "To disagree to the Amendments;" and Debate thereupon:
The Question was put, "Whether this House will agree to the First Amendment?"
It was Resolved in the Negative.
Then the other Amendments, being severally read, were disagreed to.
ORDERED, That the said Bill be read a Third Time on Monday next, at Eleven a Clock.
Succession of the Crown, &c. Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the further Security of His Majesty's Person, and the Succession of the Crown in the Protestant Line; and for extinguishing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales, and all other Pretenders, and their open and secret Abettors."
ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.
Then, it being moved, "To give an Instruction to the Committee, that the Bill be altered in this Particular; (videlicet,) That no Oath shall be offered, to deprive a Peer from sitting and voting in Parliament;" and Debate thereupon:
The Question was put, "Whether it shall be an Instruction to the Committee, to leave out that Clause which deprives the Peers from sitting and voting in Parliament, if they neglect or refuse the Oath?"
It was Resolved in the Negative.
And it being also moved, "That there may be an Instruction to the Committee, that the Bill be so altered, as that the taking the Oath be voluntary, and not compulsory."
It was Resolved in the Negative.
ORDERED, That this House be put into a Committee upon the said Bill on Monday next, at Twelve a Clock, next after the reading the Bill for punishing of Mutineers and Deserters.
