Jarman's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the vesting of Nine Messuages, in the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields, in the County of Middl'x, in Trustees, to be sold; and for settling, in Lieu thereof, a Messuage and certain Lands, in Whipsnade, Tottrenhoe, and Studham, in the County of Bedford."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be referred to the same Committee to whom Sir George Wheeler's Bill is committed; and to meet on Wednesday the Fifth Day of January next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings.

Address upon the Queen's Speech.

The Earl of Kingston reported from the Lords Committees, an humble Address to be presented to Her Majesty, from this House, giving Her Majesty humble Thanks, for Her most Gracious Speech and the Matters therein contained.

Which was read, as follows:

"We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, return our most humble Acknowledgements to Your Majesty, for Your gracious Condescension, in promising to communicate to us those Informations You have received of the ill Practices of Your Majesty's and our Enemies in Scotland; and we doubt not but the Zeal this House has shewed, for having the Persons secured, and their Designs brought to Light, has been very acceptable to Your Majesty: We rely upon Your Majesty, that You will give such Directions as may effectually prevent all pernicious Designs. And we trust in God Almighty's Goodness, that that watchful Providence, which has discovered the wicked Plot so seasonably, will likewise prosper all Your Majesty's Counsels and good Intentions. We reckon all our Concerns, but chiefly the greatest of all, the Protestant Religion, to be very safe under Your Majesty's tender Care and wife Administration; and we will, by our utmost Zeal, maintain the Rights of the Crown and the Church of England, in all such Ways as may best answer Your Majesty's pious Designs, and may most promote the Good and Happiness of all Your Subjects. We desire not to let our Thoughts go beyond Your Majesty's Person, to a future Security, but as 'tis necessary for Your Majesty's Preservation, as well as for settling the Minds of all Your Good Subjects; who look on the Protestant Succession as Your Majesty's best Security, as well as their own."

To which the House agreed.

ORDERED, That the whole House shall attend Her Majesty, with the Address agreed to this Day.

Lords to attend Her Majesty.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Earl of Kingston and the Lord Viscount Longueville do attend Her Majesty, from this House, humbly to know what Time Her Majesty will please to appoint, for this House to attend Her Majesty, with their Address agreed to this Day.

Chamberlaine versus Wenman & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Dame Margaret Chamberlaine, Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Sir James Chamberlaine Baronet, deceased, from a Decree made by the Lord Keeper North, in the Court of Chancery, the Eighteenth of May One Thousand Six Hundred Eighty-three, in a Cause there depending, between the said Sir James Chamberlaine Plaintiff, and Sir Richard Wenman Baronet, and Dame Katherine his Wife, now Countess Dowager of Abingdon, and Sir Robert Dashwood Knight and Dame Penelope his Wife, Defendants; and praying, "That the said Decree may be reversed; and that not only the Annuity or Rent-charge of Five Hundred Pounds per Annum therein mentioned ought to have been paid to the said Sir James Chamberlaine during his Life but also a further Annuity, or Rent-charge, of Two Hundred and Fifty Pounds per Annum ought to have been also paid to the said Sir James Chamberlaine during his Life, together with all Arrears thereof; to which Arrears the Petitioner is now legally entitled, as his Executrix:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Countess Dowager of Abingdon and Richard Lord Wenman her Son, Sir Robert Dashwood and Dame Penelope his Wife, may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Monday the Tenth Day of January next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon.

Ashby versus White, in Error.

Whereas To-morrow was appointed, for hearing the Errors argued upon the Writ of Error depending in this House wherein Mathew Ashby is Plaintiff, and William White and others Defendants:

Upon reading, this Day, the Petition of William White, Richard Talbois, William Bell, and Richard Heydon, late Constables of the Town of Ailesbury, in the County of Bucks, praying a further Day for hearing the same, their Counsel not being fully instructed; it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Errors argued in this Case on Thursday next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon.

Bowdler's Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the vesting the Manor of Michaelchurch, in the County of Radnor, and other Lands in the County of Salop, of Mary Bowdler and William Bowdler Gentleman, in certain Trustees, for Payment of the Debts, and making Provision for the Younger Children, of the said William Bowdler."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Doctor Edisbury and Mr. Hiccock:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

The Earl of Kingston reported, "That he and the Lord Viscount Longueville had attended Her Majesty, as ordered; and that Her Majesty is pleased to appoint this Evening, between Six and Seven a Clock, for this House to attend Her, with their Address."
