Abjuration Oath, Bill to enlarge the Time for taking.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enlarging the Time for taking the Oath of Abjuration; and also for re-capacitating and indemnifying such Persons as have not taken the same by the Time limited, and shall take the same by a Time to be appointed."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Wednesday next, at Eleven a Clock; and that all the Lords be summoned to attend.

Hayes versus Carryl & al.:

Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing of the Cause wherein John Hayes Esquire is Appellant, and John Carryll, John Peacock, and Francis Browning, and others, are Respondents:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Thursday next, at Twelve a Clock precisely.

Hayes & al. versus Carryl & al. Printed Case not signed.

The House being informed, "That there is a printed Case delivered to several Lords this Day, intituled, "John Hayes Esquire Appellant, and John Carryl Esquire, John Peacock, and Francis Browning, Respondents," whereunto no Person hath signed according to the Order of this House:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Door-keepers attending this House do inquire, and inform this House, who dispersed the said Papers.

Way out of Chancery-Lane, to collect Duties for, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the better collecting the Duties granted for making the Way out of Chancery-Lane into Lincolne's Inn Fields; and for determining the said Duties, when the Parties concerned are paid."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Wednesday the Third Day of February next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Report of Precedents for delivering Bills, on adhering to Amendments, after a Free Conference:

The Lord Steward reported from the Lords Committees to inspect the Journals, in relation to delivering Bills to the Commons after the Lords adhering to their Amendments: "That their Lordships find it is to be delivered at a Free Conference, sometimes with, and sometimes without, Reasons."

Then several Precedents were read, out of the Journals; (videlicet,)

Occasional Conformity Bill, to be delivered at a Free Conference.

After which, it was agreed to deliver the Bill at a Free Conference.

Then the Lords Amendment, (videlicet,) 2 Skin, 4 L. Leave out from ["Family"] to ["shall"] in the 15 L. to which the Lords had not adhered, being read; and Debate thereupon:

The Question was proposed, "Whether this House shall agree with the Commons, that the Clause now read do stand Part of the Bill?"

Then the previous Question was put, "Whether this Question shall be now put?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then the main Question was put, "Whether this House shall agree with the Commons, that the Clause read do stand Part of the Bill?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. for the Free Conference.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir John Hoskyns and Sir Robert Legard:

To desire a Free Conference, on Monday next, at One a Clock, in the Painted Chamber, upon the Subject-matter of the last Free Conference relating to the Bill for preventing Occasional Conformity.

Putting Questions in the House, Method of, to be considered.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That it shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, to consider the Methods of putting Question, and determining them, in the House; and that their Lordships, or any Seven of them, do meet on Wednesday next.

L. Viscount Roseberic versus Taylor.

Causes to come on in Course.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause wherein Archibald Primrose Lord Viscount Roseberie is Appellant, and James Taylor and Elizabeth his Wife are Respondents, on Friday next, at Eleven a Clock; and nothing to intervene; and that all the other Causes, on which Days of Hearing are appointed, be put off, to come on after in Course.

Sands versus Shaw & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Sands Merchant; praying, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing of the Errors argued, upon the Writ of Error now depending in this House, wherein Thomas Sands is Plaintiff, and Sir John Shaw and others Defendants:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Errors argued thereupon, on Saturday the Thirteenth Day of February next, at Eleven a Clock.
