Goodwins' Bill.

The Lord President reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Nicholas Goodwin the Elder and Nicholas Goodwin the Younger to sell the Manor of Winslow, in the County of Bucks; and, with the Monies arising thereby, and other Monies to be advanced by the said Nicholas Goodwin the Elder, to purchase Lands of a greater Yearly Value, to be settled to the same Uses as the said Manor is now settled," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which, being read Twice, were agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

James's Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting and settling certain Estates of William James Gentleman in and upon Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of Debts, and making Provision for himself, his Wife, and their Children."

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Sir John Harper Baronet, an Infant, by Robert Burdett Esquire, Robert Wilmott Esquire, Henry Dyson Gentleman, his Guardians, and of the said Robert Burdett, Robert Wilmott, and Henry Dyson, from a Decree made in the Dutchy Court at Westminster, the Nineteenth Day of November last, in the Cause there depending, between the Attorney General of the said Dutchy (on relation of Thomas Gladwin Esquire, Thomas Legh Esquire, Gilbert Munday Gentleman, Robert Hayward, Robert Ferne, Robert Pidcock, and Edward Parkes,) Complainant, and the Petitioners Defendants; praying the Reversal of the said Decree; and that the Attorney General of the Dutchy, Thomas Gladwin, Thomas Legh, Gilbert Munday, Robert Hayward, Robert Ferne, Robert Pidcock, and Edward Parkes, may answer thereunto:

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Marquis of Halifax reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill, with some Amendments, and leaving out the First Enacting Clause."

Which being read;

The Question was put, "Whether this House shall agree with the Committee, in leaving out the said Clause ?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
